"Oh, Sandy. Wherefore art thou, Sandy?"
This private residence in Los Angeles was a location for the movie Grease starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. This was Frenchy's home where they had their little sleep-over. If Olivia Newton-John married John Travolta then her name would have been Olivia Newton-John-Travolta???
This home is located at 4524 Kingswell Ave, Los Angeles.

Signs at Southbank. Most of my shots are months behind, this performance early this year has probably moved to Papeete by now!

Todays challenge on www.photochallenge.org/ was "Grease"
I have tried to be good and not have greasy breakfasts to often these days, but this gave me an excuse to get bacon and eggs on a roll, a tasty but greasy breakfast, and here is a shot of it before I ate it, funnily enough after thinking about the grease I missed the bagel and cream cheese i normally have these days
am a bit late posting tonight as we had drinks in the office at knock off time, also because of that I may not get to see all your shots tonight, but will catch up tomorrow
The car used in Grease was customised, with a different stance, shaved doorhandles, different bumpers and a fancy paint scheme that featured silver lightning bolts outlined in red or purple. These proved to be tricky. Making them just silver made the car look too plain, but using red plates made them stand out far too much. Since I didn't want to resort to stickers, I chose dark lavender as the accent colour, which seems to have done the trick.
As usual, doors and hood (bonnet) open. So does the trunk (boot), but I didn't take a picture of that.
"He got friendly, holdin' my hand..."
These exterior scenes from the movie Grease were shot at Venice high school in Venice, California. This lunch area has been recently updated with a covering, hence the shade in my photo. What I found really cool is that there are still some of the older lunch tables still being used today that were present during the filming. See my note.

New post on the blog!
Hello lovelies! How is this November looking like for you? Here we are in the middle of what our weather folks call “Saint Martins summer”, not the most scientific name out there, right? I think it would make more sense to everyone if I just use the most well-known term “Indian Summer” or… even better, should I name it “perfect summer”? ... Keep reading on the blog
Old rusty bolts and a well used tub of all purpose grease sit on a makeshift timber platform ready for their next application.

Reminds me of the paint job on the car in the movie 'Grease'.
Large Crop - Still no closer but yesterday there was a circus at Portland Top Fields so no close-up shots yet again unfortunately. I will keep trying till they migrate. Taken from a bush covered by a Cam Net.

Another bot? Why not.
This one will tighten up your bolts and grease your hinges, but prefers the lube.
Simple, yes, table scrap distraction, yes.
Getting to the top.
It is as difficult to get to the top as climbing a greased bamboo pole. This is a village game in Burma.
Apart from my obvious love of Disney, Grease happens to be one of my all time favourite films. I have loved it ever since I was a little girl.
This film has an extra special connection to me however, because it was first released in the summer of 1978 ... The very same summer of the year that I was born !
Yep, that's right, Grease and I are BOTH celebrating our 40th Birthday's this year.
As such I thought it was about time that I added some of these AMAZING Grease Barbie dolls to my collection. To be honest, I have no idea why I haven't gotten around to buying them before now.
Anyway, I was super lucky when I found this set of 8 dolls come up for sale on ebay. So I didn't hesitate, and bought 'em straight away as a birthday present to myself. Granted I'm still missing the 2x ChaCha dolls, but to be honest, I never really liked her character in the film anyway.
My husband bought me the 4 x Grease 40th Anniversary Funko Pop's for my birthday, plus the special edition 40th Anniversary yearbook Bluray too (Thats the red thing laying down).
The blue square item is actually an original 1978 45 record single (Yes, I am old enough to remember records, hehehe) of the classic song 'You're The One That I Want'; which funnily enough was the number one single in the UK the day I was born ... How cool is that !
I'm super pleased with my new collection ... I just have to find somewhere to display it all though .... Ummmmmm, I'm sure I'll thing of something ?? Hehehehe :P ;)
