Public art by local artist Fritz Church on South Tacoma Way (Highway 99). The image of the mechanized horse is meant to symbolize working-class South Tacoma's history related to the transportation industry, from the railway to the auto shops. People used to park their horses on the street when they went shopping or to go into a tavern on this street.

Bull elk in velvet, grazing in Yellowstone National Park. Notice the deep red tinge on the tops of the antlers. I think this may be from the strong blood flow underneath the velvet which is fueling the growth of the antlers.

...A nice 21 degrees here in Lincoln, been out taking pictures :)

A crossbred Kiko buck from the 2008 Western Maryland Pasture-Based Meat Goat Performance Test.. Because the grass is so tall, the goats like to graze around the edges of the field.

After spending nearly 3 full days at Yellowstone National Park, The Girlfriend and I were a little disappointed with the lack of bears we had seen. We had both envisioned bears being at nearly every turn. After watching a Grizzly that was near the road, a park ranger mentioned to me that a black bear had been seen near Tower Fall. We headed that way and sure enough right near the parking area near Tower Fall was this guy. He was grazing on plants with not a care in the world. We were able to watch him for about 10 minutes before finally making our way to Miles City, Montana.
