Having some medical issues this week, I was off work today and got a brief time of good light in mid-afternoon. Thankfully, this male northern cardinal came at the right time.
it's hard to take a bad shot in Colorado. What a gorgeous place! Actually I can and I did, but I don't think this is one of them.
It's always encouraging to me when I discover that somebody has taken the time to check out a photo or two (or three or more).
As much as I wish I easily could, I'm not always able to reply to comments and thoughts that you've been kind enough to send in my direction. Please know that I appreciate all of your messages and also your faves.

Annie went along again on my last walk in the arboretum...She loved all the wild flowers which are planted to attract butterflies and birds! She was so happy to find a Queen Anne's Lace that was just her size!!!
Grateful to my friend Lindsay and her mom Lillian for allowing me to photograph them under the stars.
This was an experiment in trying to emulate a photo Richard Tatti has shown on his YouTube channel, with two people illuminated by a single LED fairy light to make it look like a glow from the lantern. I really like how it turned out.
So much to be grateful for, but realized that friends play a big role in my life. So here's a shout out to those ladies that mean so much...including my sister, who is not only family, but my friend, too!

Today I am grateful for finding new places. Yesterday on our way home I asked my husband if we could stop for a minute and take some pictures we spotted a hill that seemed to have a road. I had no idea if we could even drive up the hill or even make it all the way up.
Once we off road up hill we were all in for a big surprise. Not only were the clouds Heavenly and the sky was lit in so many different colors but we had the space all to ourselves.
I was so happy we were able to all be there and enjoy the gorgeous sunset with them. The timing could have not been any better. Can't wait to go back again :)

I'm grateful today for great friends, great scenery, relatively good health, and to have the opportunity to do a long ride today (thanks to my wife). It was a good day! #121/366 by phone
I am always grateful when a bird chooses a perch with a "clutter free" background. I couldn't believe how close this little fellow came. I almost missed him since I was concentrating on some tanagers. They were shy but this bold fellow was quite the attractive subject!
Today is Memorial Day in the US. My heart aches when I visit the veterans cemetery, and I try not to take my days for granted.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy.

Took a picture today which I thought may work well with and perhaps illustrate a quote of some kind.
I was going for something about gratitude but then my youngest son woke up from his sleep in the room next door.
We all have something to be grateful for and I believe in the act of revelling in that feeling. I believe it keeps you grounded and in touch with what is important.

I am grateful for the Senator Movie Theater! It was built in the thirties, and still has a big theater that can seat over 700 people.
Tonight we saw The Lost City of Z.
My sister called today! I am grateful for the telephone, for Sue for thinking of me, and for this card which reminds me of my friend Patti who sent it to me ages ago.
