I am very grateful to all Friends for taking the time to view my photogallery
The petals have fallen but the stamens and style (pistil) of a glory bush, princess flower, or Lasiandra, Tibouchina sp, persist.
Thank you for your visit. I appreciate any faves or comments that you leave very much and I am grateful for invitations too.
Hello Flickr Friends ❤️💙
It's been awhile, I've missed being here admiring and enjoying your photos, I look forward to catching up soon! :) I hope you are well, enjoying the season in your neck of the woods!:)
....travelling is a privilege, grateful and lucky to be able to experience a new place!
. .. Newfoundland was a bucket list place to visit. The 2 things I hoped to see most was an iceberg and a Puffin. yay :) (Puffin photo coming soon)
.....As such you can imagine how incredible this was to witness part of this iceberg falling off and crashing into the ocean!... ..still in complete awe! lol . The sound and details of it collapsing!..the wave it created. the chances to witness such a thing in nature! (and safely) :) I will treasure the moment forever.
The color, and size was magnificent! every angle is a completely new look to an iceberg. I will be posting more:)
Even though I researched the best time to see icebergs, it does not always guarantee you will. Apparently last year there were none in this area. Twillingate.(part of iceberg alley)...it all depends on the weather, currents, wind direction etc.
"Q: How much of an iceberg is below water?".....Answer below at the end:)
some more fascinating facts if you are interested:
Source:
________________
"A: Almost 90% of an iceberg is under water, hence the phrase “tip of the iceberg.” Its maximum width under water is 20-30% larger than you can see at the surface. The average depth, or draught of an iceberg, is slightly less than its apparent length above water."

This decorative egg was grateful that the others were accepting of it despite its different looking appearance. Here is a group photo of the new friends together. ;-)

Here in Brazil we are already counting down to the summer, me and family countdown to vacations. And in this vacation, in early December, we will cross the continent and land in Portugal to know the land of the discoverers. Enjoy the cold weather, and enjoy good Portuguese cuisine and beautiful cities.

When the world looks at me
I wonder what they see
Underneath these eyes
Oh, smiles masquerade as pain
And grow up to be shame
Then leave me with a lie
I know they, they don't see my flaws
Or these hidden scars
And all the mess I've made
Oh, so don't, don't let Sunday fool ya
Here's my hallelujah
Every single day, I'm running to Your grace
Ey, ey, ey
I'm tired of this dirty heart
That keeps our world apart
I need Your loving fire
And even in these church clothes
I can't dress up my soul
To be free is my desire
I'm so far from where they think I am
But when I raise my hands
I'm reaching out for life
Oh, so don't, don't let Sunday fool ya
Here's my hallelujah
Every single day, I'm running to Your grace
I know they, they don't see my flaws
Or these hidden scars
And all the mess I've made
Oh, so don't, don't let Sunday fool ya
Here's my hallelujah
Every single day, I'm running to Your grace
Running to Your grace
Ooh, I need it everyday
Things I Am Grateful For Today (And Always)

Apologies to our native brothers and sisters. Finally! Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day. Sorry that this step took so long, but grateful that we can begin or try to make amends.

Medium-sized songbird with predominantly dark plumage, a very short crest, and crimson bill and legs. Long tail and bill impart an elongated appearance. Head color varies considerably across distribution, ranging from white to dark gray to black. Often travels in large flocks, which move noisily between fruiting trees. Most commonly found in broadleaf evergreen and mixed deciduous forests but also regularly visits gardens and lowland forests. Extremely noisy, with a huge repertoire, emitting various squeaks, meows, chatters, whistles, and more. (eBird)

I love these bulbuls! Although we saw or heard them several times around Chiang Mai, this is the one and only photo that I got of them. I am grateful that they picked such a nicely lit spot for a quick rest before moving on.

I knew that I would post my last pick on May 18th when I took it and I did a lot of research for the days leading up to SH's explosion and seeing all that beauty blasted away in seconds reminds of how glad I am to be living here in this time while Rainier is in it's prime. Breathtaking beauty everywhere you look and sometimes you don't have to look too hard, just wait for the light. :-) Absolutely must be viewed large, that means you too Franky! :-)
I THINK that I caught up with everyone after having been gone for days, if not let me know.
We were lucky enough to watch this heron for several minutes as it struggled to dispatch it's rather large prey.
Any help with the fish identification will gratefully be received. I suspect now that it's a short spined sea scorpion.

Magpie grateful for a peanut treat at -29c. Some kind soul had tossed a handful of peanuts in a local park. We got there a minute or so later. It sure looked like the magpies were delighted.

I often get comments about my titles and how I use people in my photography. The titles are actually a discourse with myself, they remind me of the wonderful, the essence of our world and the way I seek to live my own life. I do this for the people in my life, my family, my friends, the people who I meet and the boy on the left, my son. Being non-verbal, I am his voice, I am his teacher and his advocate. I remind myself daily of his ability to love unconditionally, his gratefulness for the tiniest things and his untainted joy for life. He is his mother's teacher, her inspiration and her best friend. xox
"Start each day with a grateful heart."
Another composition which is quite similar to my last bleeding heart image, where I again used our columbine to create a bokeh which frames the heart in focus. I hope you like it! Wish you a great Sunday evening!
The longer I was sitting on the snowy rocks by the lake the more I was starting to feel the process of freezing inside my body, as if the blood in my veins were starting to turn into ice, just like the veins I was seeing on the surface of the frozen lake in front of me.
Then a thought came to me; how many people out there were feeling exactly the same sensations in their bodies right at that moment, and how many of them had sunlight, a shelter, a sign of hope rising in front of them to warm them up again?
I couldn't think for long, I couldn't stay for long. The sunlight didn't warm me up and the shelter wasn't safe enough for me to go in.
I stood up and Ieft. I went back home.
That morning I felt grateful for my shelter, and fearful for those who are without any.
For those who's hopes and veins remain frozen in their lakes.
