* I made my annual pilgrimage to RSPB Bempton on Wednesday evening . It was unusual weather on the cliffs, warm and still instead of the usual chilly East wind . It obviously effected the birds the Gannets in particularly were flying much lower down the cliffs instead of being at eye level. It made flight shots much more difficult . I have to say I was not too concerned about getting too many images . I still have a lot of photos from Bempton in the archives from 2018, 2019 and 2020

This is one of the few I did take as I was using a long lens 500 mm I could not get it wide enough to catch all the Gannets wing . Stepping back to get a wider view would have been difficult Still I am quite happy with the result.

A Savannah sparrow flew in for a visit, did a nice pose, then moved on. I'm still grateful!

After an excellent week in Wells in Somerset we moved further South and West into Cornwall. It was a very different sort of week much less history and architecture but some splendid coastal walks . We were based in Carbis Bay near St Ives. When I booked the Carbis Bay cottage I had never heard of the place . However the G7 summit that was held there in June certainly put it on the map. Fortunately they had all long gone when we arrived . This is a shot from the beach at Carbis looking towards the town of St Ives which I guess is about two miles away

This was my first visit to Cornwall I have always been a little put off by its popularity and even in September there were too many people for my taste . The far west of Cornwall is about 420 miles from Hull the greatest distance we can travel in England from Hull . We are such a tiny country . Which is why I prefer France a much larger country with the same population and with a greater sense of space

I knew that I would post my last pick on May 18th when I took it and I did a lot of research for the days leading up to SH's explosion and seeing all that beauty blasted away in seconds reminds of how glad I am to be living here in this time while Rainier is in it's prime. Today I'm grateful for the colors of Lake Superior rocks I've collected over the years and I’ve put them all around my house.

Color are the SMILES of nature.

Despite the quarantine, I am still thankful to be able to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature all around me. It is soothing to my soul... I love squirrels, and this adorable critter briefly posed for me in this lovely garden, captivating me with its beauty...

I'm really so grateful that Rena is a genuine lapcat, something I've always wanted and never had before.
