" When everything lies in disguise
How could I ever forget?
Those eyes looking for my weal
How could I ever know more?
When everything is held by threat
How could I ever feel you?
Once again, without losing my mind
Oh empty note
Shadows of my past
Made it to the end
Oh empty note
Shadows of my past
Made it to the end
How could I ever know you?
When you are miles and miles away
How could I forgive myself?
How blind and scared I was
Oh empty note.. "

* A second shot from Spurn Point this time looking inland. Spurn is well known as somewhere to see fantastic sunsets . However this evening it was not that spectacular but still rather enjoyable to see . This was taken looking across the Humber estuary towards the East Yorkshire “ mainland “ . There is not a lot of water in the shot just some very wet mudbanks .
If you are interested in the area there is a description of Spurn Point in the text of my previous post

Hello Flickr Friends ❤️💙
It's been awhile, I've missed being here admiring and enjoying your photos, I look forward to catching up soon! :) I hope you are well, enjoying the season in your neck of the woods!:)
....travelling is a privilege, grateful and lucky to be able to experience a new place!
. .. Newfoundland was a bucket list place to visit. The 2 things I hoped to see most was an iceberg and a Puffin. yay :) (Puffin photo coming soon)
.....As such you can imagine how incredible this was to witness part of this iceberg falling off and crashing into the ocean!... ..still in complete awe! lol . The sound and details of it collapsing!..the wave it created. the chances to witness such a thing in nature! (and safely) :) I will treasure the moment forever.
The color, and size was magnificent! every angle is a completely new look to an iceberg. I will be posting more:)
Even though I researched the best time to see icebergs, it does not always guarantee you will. Apparently last year there were none in this area. Twillingate.(part of iceberg alley)...it all depends on the weather, currents, wind direction etc.
"Q: How much of an iceberg is below water?".....Answer below at the end:)
some more fascinating facts if you are interested:
Source:
________________
"A: Almost 90% of an iceberg is under water, hence the phrase “tip of the iceberg.” Its maximum width under water is 20-30% larger than you can see at the surface. The average depth, or draught of an iceberg, is slightly less than its apparent length above water."
Once again, some leaves dipped into the welcoming water of a small pond. End or beginning of the eternal cycle of life on Earth?
Once again: Remember, there is no Planet B.
P.S. I was away for a while, now back home again (for a while).
I am forever grateful for photos and the memories they can etch into your mind and heart.

When the world looks at me
I wonder what they see
Underneath these eyes
Oh, smiles masquerade as pain
And grow up to be shame
Then leave me with a lie
I know they, they don't see my flaws
Or these hidden scars
And all the mess I've made
Oh, so don't, don't let Sunday fool ya
Here's my hallelujah
Every single day, I'm running to Your grace
Ey, ey, ey
I'm tired of this dirty heart
That keeps our world apart
I need Your loving fire
And even in these church clothes
I can't dress up my soul
To be free is my desire
I'm so far from where they think I am
But when I raise my hands
I'm reaching out for life
Oh, so don't, don't let Sunday fool ya
Here's my hallelujah
Every single day, I'm running to Your grace
I know they, they don't see my flaws
Or these hidden scars
And all the mess I've made
Oh, so don't, don't let Sunday fool ya
Here's my hallelujah
Every single day, I'm running to Your grace
Running to Your grace
Ooh, I need it everyday

Have a wonderful day, everyone...
This time of year I feel especially grateful. I'm very grateful for all of you, my Flickr friends. Without asking, you give me joy...and that joy turns into a creative attitude:)
I think we all believe that grateful living is a celebration of the universal give and take of life. A limitless yes to belonging.
And I feel a very special sense of belonging with all of you, my Flickr friends.

Festivities June, festivals of the popular saints, or celebration of the mid-summer (Midsummer) are the period centered on the summer siege (northern hemisphere) and winter (southern hemisphere), and more specifically on the celebrations of Northern Europe that occur Between June 19 and June 25. Exact dates vary between cultures.
The Christian Church, however, designates June 24 as the feast day in honor of the Christian martyr St. John the Baptist and celebrates the Eve of St. John and the Birth of John the Baptist.

Still experimenting with extension tubes, here I was looking for something different to photograph with some very tired looking tulips. A lot of the color seemed to have faded, which made me think more of a monochrome edit - including some generous use of sliders to fit into the Sliders Sunday Theme. HSS to those who participate as well!
* A shot from Namibia from 2007 and the fourth continent on our December travels . This was taken from the top of Dune 7 it was a extremely hard climb in the heat, i would not even attempt it now. The view from the summit was incredible . I am pretty sure about half way down you can just see Mary who had given up the climb she had more sense
Dune 7 is the highest dune in Namibia. The dune has been measured at over 1,256 feet and is named Dune 7 because it is the seventh dune one encounters after crossing the river Tsauchab.

Today I'm grateful for the colors of Lake Superior rocks I've collected over the years and I’ve put them all around my house.

This image of Castle Howard was taken almost exactly four years ago and it looks full of the promise of Spring. However looking at the image its hard not to feel the poignancy of the date. I think as we wandered round the grounds that morning we knew Covid was coming but we probably had no idea how awful the next be months would be. The first UK Lockdown came into force about a week later.. I remember we had coffee and a cake at the cafe at Castle Howard. It would be the last time we ate out for many months .
We of course got off lightly, yes our life was turned upside down, so many things one took for granted had to be abandoned but we were not struck by the virus . Unlike millions across the world who died or became seriously ill and the many people who lost their livelihoods . Such a strange sad time.
I think the book the captures the time best is “ Lucy by the Sea “ by the brilliant American novelist Elizabeth Strout. It certainly not a book just about Covid but it captures the period better than anything else I have read

Esslingen am Neckar is a culturally diverse city located about 14km south of Stuttgart and hosts many festivals throughout the year. After being to this spot countless times over the years, and trying to get a shot with no people during the blue hour that hadn't already been done, it was challenging to say the least. Last night' adventure was a spur of the moment opportunity to capture what I was looking for in an image. I am sometimes grateful for bone chilling temperatures, as it keeps everyone inside, hence allowing more opportunity to capture clean images. :-D I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! :-)
