Congratulations 2011 Heidelberg University graduates!
The 158th commencement ceremony took place over two days, with the Graduate ceremony taking place on Saturday, May 14, and the Undergraduates walked across the stage in Seiberling Gymnasium on Sunday, May 15.
Dr. Clinton O. Longenecker gave the commencement address at the Graduate ceremony and Carrie Wcislek, who received a master of arts in education degree, was the graduate student speaker..
Fun Facts:
* 87 graduate degrees were awarded, the most ever in Heidelberg history
* The 344 graduates receiving bachelor's and master's degrees was the largest graduating class since the University was founded in 1850
This photograph was taken at a dinner, where Dr. David Rubin of the University of Chicago addressed everyone regarding the importance of the next day's visit and reiterated the importance of the CCFA's mission.
Each year on or around World IBD Day, staff and volunteers from the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) descend on Washington, D.C. to meet with their respective legislators. Over 1.4 million Americans currently have Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease, and approximately 140,000 of them are pediatric patients. This was my third experience at CCFA's Day on the Hill, and each year we try and bring as many patients with us as possible, especially young patients. This year, being a New England constituent, I met with the staff of representatives and senators from Massachusetts and Connecticut with another seventeen-year old patient and his mother and father. We had a busy day, but all in all, a productive one. We raised awareness for our cause and told of our personal battles with the disease speaking on behalf of pediatric patients from those states that were unable to be in Washington that day.

Graduates in the Practical Nursing program held their class pinning ceremony on Wednesday, June 27 in the Crist Student Center at the Main Campus in Galesburg. Congratulations to the PN Class of 2018!
