kinda don't remember taking this shot, but thankful I did.
song: 'On My Mind', by Canadian producer & Instrumentalist "Pomo"
A black and white photograph captures the silhouette of a bird in flight against a gradient sky. The long, narrow wings and forked tail suggest a seabird, possibly a frigatebird, gliding with effortless grace. The minimal composition and stark contrast highlight the bird’s elegant form and evoke a sense of freedom, isolation, and quiet power.

Five birds soared across the sky, spaced like punctuation in a sentence I hadn’t yet written. The light was low—dawn or dusk, hard to tell—but the gradient from deep blue to pale gold gave the whole scene a quiet urgency. Their wings were fully extended, gliding in formation like they had somewhere important to be, but no rush getting there.
I looked up just in time to catch them mid-flight, silhouetted against the soft sky like a secret in motion. I was hoping they wouldn’t veer off before I framed the shot. They held their line, like a feathered council convening in the air. I clicked once, and they vanished into the horizon, leaving behind only the hush and a photo.

I was just hanging out with my sister in Masbate City when we caught this sunset. The sky was putting on a show - pinks, oranges, and purples all mixing with the darkening blue. Nothing fancy, just a really nice end to the day. The water was calm, making a perfect mirror of the colorful sky above. Those mountains make a nice dark outline against all that color.
Mount Bachelor, Oregon in a glowing sunrise after a fresh coat of snow from a storm that had just passed through. Nice to see the amount of snow dropping on the PNW mountains. Here is hoping it continues the rest of winter for a solid spring and summer snowpack.
Silhouettes of fellow ferry riders pause at sunset, phones lifted as the Hudson turns to glass and the skyline glows. A quiet, shared moment between water, light, and a city winding down.
Nature image I took of an Acorn Woodpecker at the top of a dead tree with an overcast sky behind it.
While I was hooting from the Zoobruecke the other night I relied the beautiful gradient in the sly was a much more exciting view that capturing the Cathedral yet again. I loved the silhouette of the buildings along the river Rhine and the Mediapark building framing the Colonius, out tv tower in Cologne.
One of the obstacles what the vibration of the bridge caused by the many cars crossing the bridge on their way home from work, so shooting a long exposure from a tripod wasn't really an option. I tried to balance raising the ISO and decreasing my shutter speed to minimise noise and while keeping sharpness acceptable. Mind you, this was shot handheld at a focal length of 200mm at 1/80s without IS.
I hope you enjoy the result as much as I do!
It's crazy how a sky can change beautiful colours so quickly at sunset. This is just over 90mins difference from sunset, through blue hour to night sky with stars twinkling.
Standing on my balcony during the blue hour, I was captivated by this delicate crescent moon suspended in the gradient sky. The earthshine - that faint glow illuminating the moon's dark side - was perfectly visible, creating this ethereal effect that transforms our familiar satellite into something almost mystical.
My intention was to embrace pure minimalism, stripping away all distractions to focus solely on this celestial moment. The smooth gradient from deep blue to warm orange provides the perfect backdrop for the moon's gentle presence. Sometimes the most profound images come from the simplest compositions, where a single subject can embody the wonder of the entire cosmos.
This photograph represents the magic that's available to us every evening if we just take the time to look up. Shot from my own balcony, it reminds me that we don't need to travel to remote locations to witness astronomical beauty. The earthshine phenomenon - sunlight reflected from Earth back onto the moon - connects us to the larger dance of celestial bodies, all captured in this moment of quiet contemplation above the everyday world.
A mesmerizing view of the Alpine peaks in silhouette, bathed in warm orange and pink hues of sunset. This tranquil scene captures the serene beauty of dusk, offering a moment of reflection and calm in the heart of nature
