Gradient FAILS que eu fiz ontem. A de arco-íris eu fiquei toda empolgada pra fazer. Fiz, deu certo, mas não gostei. Pastel definitivamente não fica bom com a minha pele. =/ [usei dois da BU, o Lemonade da Orly, um da Risqué e o Deck da Mohda. Não lembro o nome de todos.] Fiz só a mão esquerda, tirei tudo e fiz o outro, com preto, cinza e branco. [todos da Hits, o Night, o Neve e o Dree]. E também não gostei, ficou meio grosseiro, sei lá. ¬¬ Então hoje tirei tudo de novo e fiz outra gradiente que ficou linda e eu posto amanhã. :D

I watched 'Les Amants du Pont Neuf' last night, which made me dip back into my Paris photos from last year. I found these which I remember taking with my little 'take me everywhere' Fuji camera as I was stumbling back from the Violon Dingue one morning.
Today, July 26, my first patient passed away. 26 days ago when I had my first day of being a doctor and I was on call, I admitted this sweet elderly man because he was feeling faint and lightheaded. It was my first admit as a real doctor. He only stayed a couple of days, we just gave him some fluids and decreased his BP meds. I met his two daughters, who were very caring. 7-8 days after we discharged him, he came back. He had suddenly developed an altered mental status and was very confused. Some tests were done and it turned out he had to have a small surgery. The two days after surgery he was still confused and altered and I was worried that he wouldn't improve. The following day he seemed to be more himself, but then he developed pneumonia. He worsened. Then his belly got big. He worsened further. This entire time, he had his loving daughters with him in the hospital 12 hours a day. They were so devoted. I had a chance to speak to them almost daily, to discuss his prognosis and his end of life decisions. Yesterday morning they asked me if I thought he would be awake enough to talk to his wife in person. I said that even if they didn't talk, they should bring her from her nursing home to him. As I walked through the halls later in the day, I ran into the daughter wheeling his wife and they had a chance to tell me how glad he said "I love you" to her. I was so glad for them. But... I was called last night about a very low blood pressure and I ran over there right away. I gave him fluids. I called lots of people to get him transferred to the ICU. I then spoke a little to the daughters about what our options were. I think they could tell how scared I was, how nervous I was. I had no idea how to run the logistics of the transfer and how to keep him from crashing while I made these phone calls. But finally the nurse said there was a bed so I helped them wheel him up. And then I disappeared for the night. I had a lot of calls in the ER and some things to do with the other patients upstairs, and I knew this man was being taken care of well by the ICU doctors so I didn't check on him. In the morning I visited his room and saw that he was not responsive and having trouble breathing and his blood pressure was low. I did my exam, I left, and I wrote my note. Then we rounded. After rounds, I decided to head over to see if I could talk to the family one last time before I went home to sleep. As I reached the room, I got a call from my senior to tell me that he had passed away.
I just froze. I didn't know what to say.
I found out that the daughters were in the family conference room with a hospice social worker and so I knocked and went in. They were actually happy to see me. I had a chance to hug them and cry with them and pray with them. We talked a little about his life and how it really did end well. We discussed the medical decisions made. We discussed how everything that could be done was done. It was just luck that I was the one on call this weekend and I could be there for them.
Most importantly, I reminded them how amazingly wonderful it was that they could bring their mother in the day before so they had the chance to tell each other how much they love each other.

This is a photograph from the Rathfarnham 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, Ireland on Sunday 29th September 2013 at 10:00.
This is one of the most popular runs in South County Dublin and is held in support of St. Luke's Cancer Hospital, Rathgar. This year's race attracted over 1,300 participants and the run is open to runners, joggers and walkers. The course is one of the fastest 5ks in the country with a downhill start and finish. This is an excellently organised race with marhsalling at every junction and Garda enforced road closures for the duration of the race.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There was a record number of participants with over 1,300 people taking to the start line.
Weather: This race was held on a beautiful autumn morning. There was little or no breeze and there was mild temperatures of around 15C for the race.
Course: Overall this course is a flat and fast course. There is a net gain of 15M over the whole course with slightly downhill gradients at the start and towards the finish. The course is completely left-handed which makes for favourable conditions. All being equal the course provides an excellent opportunity for every from elite competitors to joggers to set a fast time for themselves.
The race starts at the easterly side of the N81 Tempelogue Road and Springfield Avenue. The start area is shown here on Google StreetView (goo.gl/maps/kg7FY). The race follows Springfield Avenue along the side of Bushy Park. The race overlaps the final kilometer and the finish as it proceeds to the Rathfarnham Road (Shown here Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/gRrI6). The route heads north on Rathfarnham road as there is a very gentle incline until the junction with the Temleogue Road is reached and runners make a sharp left turn onto the N81 (shown here Google StreetView goo.gl/maps/51S2t). The race then heads south along Templeogue Road where the runners can see the course unfold straight infront of them. The race turns left at Springfield Avenue again (start area) and the final Kilometer is as the first to the finish area (Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/1R08S) just before the Rathfarnham Road Junction.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Como tenho trabalhado MUITO e meu trabalho é primordialmente feio com as mãos tá meio difícil manter cutículas hidratadas e muito menos unhas grandes e bonitas. Essa semana tive que cortar depois de ter quebrado cinco unhas. Até tento ficar com uma ou outra unha curtinha e as outras longas mas com cinco não rola, fica muito feio. Daí que, com tanta coisa contra, até fico sem vontade de fazer coisas mais bonitas, tenho pintado mal e porcamente e nem posto de tão sem graça que tem ficado. Para vcs terem uma ideia, depois da carimbada que está postada usei Desirré da Hits na quarta, na quinta joguei Airglow por cima, e na sexta usei No Shrinking Violet da Revlon. Até tirei fotos mas ficaram tão blé que nem tive animo de postar. Mas fim de semana é fim de semana, hora de buscar inspiração e fazer algo bem bonito. Depois de horas fuçando na internet procurando por algo que fizesse meu coração bater mais rápido, resolvi fazer esse degradê e adorei o resultado, ficou bem delicado. Usei o Poodle da Risqué para a base e esponjei com Maria do Céu, Ludurana e Uva, Colorama. Depois passei uma camadinha de glitter para dar o toque final, usei o Star, que é bem fininho. E, por último mas não menos importante, uma camadinha de TC da Ideal para ficar bem uniforme e com esse brilho todo especial. Espero que vcs tb gostem. Bjusss
