This supersparkly manicure I created sprinkling loose silver holographic glitter over wet nail polish (Claudia Cosmetics Glistening Snow) from the tipp to the center of the nail & charcoal loose holographic glitter from the center down to the finger. To make a soft gradient I mixed both glitters & sprinkled the "mixture" over the middle of the nail & sealed everything with 3 coats of OPI Top Coat.

It looks sooo dazzling! A perfect New Year's manicure.

E.coli isolated from a drain fluid from a patient being treated for necrotizing pancreatitis. Patient had been treated in hospital in India.

Isolate is being tested with Biomerieux E-Test Metallo-Beta-Lactamase confirmation gradient strip.

Strip has Imipenem gradient alone and Imipenem gradient in the presence of EDTA a Metallo-Beta Lactamase inhibitor.

There is >3 doubling dilution difference of the MIC with and without EDTA signifying the isolate possessed a Metallo-Beta -Lactamase.

Isolate was positive for blaNDM-1 gene using a PCR based genetic analysis technique.

This was one of those "I wonder if..." experiments. I had a bunch of leftover white beads from something on my desk and I wanted to see if I could get a pretty gradient. Turns out the answer is yes. I think they are fabulous.

Yarn: my own gradient handspun two-ply from FLUFF Rambouillet Combed Top in Ripe Eggplant

Needles: US 7 - 4.5 mm

I wouldn't call these successful yet - this one is the proto-type, and I'll rip and re-knit it. But pretty close!
