Our Daily Challenge ~ Go with the Flow
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated
Before the model gets ready, my photo club friends are scouting the location. They check the light i.e. the quality and the direction of light. They check the texture and reflectiveness of the walls. They check and set the white balance.
I did none of these. I am the lazy amateur. I just go with the flow and instinct. :o)
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Explored on 7 May 2009. I've even seen my image on page 4!!
The elevator to the RandstadRail tram station 'Beatrixkwartier' in The Hague, The Netherlands. The 6 second exposure makes the elevator look like running water, hence the title 'Go With The Flow'.
RandstadRail is a light rail project in the southern area of the Randstad conurbation in the west of The Netherlands. It connects the cities of The Hague, Zoetermeer and Rotterdam, also serving the suburban areas between them. It consists of three lines, one between the cities of The Hague and Rotterdam (Erasmuslijn) and two lines from The Hague to Zoetermeer. The new lightrail vehicles run mainly on existing routes converted from both train and tram tracks, except for a new viaduct in The Hague and a new tunnel in Rotterdam.
This picture shows the elevators leading up to this new viaduct. It looks very futuristic and is nicknamed 'net stocking'.
This is taken on our holiday. This one's from Wales, in the pittoresque and small natural harbor of Fishguard.

for me again monday theme - new
i had so many ideas for this weeks theme..but just couldn't make them come to fruition, mostly because my son was home with me today.. he normally goes to school on mondays, but we had to change his days to coordinate with my work days.. anyway... will have to try my other "new" themed ideas sometime during the 366..
so this type of photo is not new for me.. it's pretty much signature my style.. but what is new is the attitude that anything goes..to not get so wrapped up in having things go exactly my way...to not be so self critical, to GO WITH THE FLOW.. 'cause when you do..magic just may happen
hmam!
again thank you dear friends for the kind comments
xo
“If we listened to our intellect we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship.
We'd never go in business because we'd be cynical: "It's gonna go wrong." Or "She's going to hurt me." Or,"I've had a couple of bad love affairs, so therefore . . ."
Well, that's nonsense.
You're going to miss life.
You've got to jump off the cliff all the time and build your wings on the way down.”
This couple decided to step into my frame for their sunset pic and camped out for the duration. I had a nice foreground and line but abandoned that to make them my subject instead. Getting upset only gets you upset, so go with the flow.

When you are lazy to go out but want to capture around home
Little drama here, went out for something to capture, but ends up with this.
For this month’s Play That Funky Music build challenge over at LUGNuts, I sought inspiration from the high speed adrenaline fueled video Go With The Flow by Queens of the Stone Age. One of the most visually striking videos ever made, it shows how a high speed game of chicken through the desert can somehow have sexual overtones…or…um…something. I don’t know…its best not to ask questions. No Lego trucks or figures were harmed in the making of this diorama…although I stepped on a few pieces and that hurt like a bastard. And I’m not too sure of the condition of my sanity anymore. Two ‘52 Chevy pickups and all that black and white sort of drove me loopy.
See where this picture was taken. [?]

ODC-Go With the Flow
The little sidewalk that runs from the front door to the breezeway door to the driveway reminds me of a river and has a flow to it.
Caught in the natural tide of humanity that flows between Oxford and Picadilly, it is a circus indeed. In more ways than one. Of the three major foreign cities I have traveled through in the last two years, they were each different in their own unique fashions. Paris has the wide boulevards and the Arc de Triomphe. Edinburgh had the hidden intimacy of its closes. But London. London has the circus and it is difficult to translate that into film. If this image seems a jumble of chaos and confusion, of over-layed human bodies and various rights of way, the blur of a bus or taxi, then it has caught a portion of that. I left out the lights and the colors and the sounds and smells of it all. But when faced with such a monstrosity of humanity, you do what you can.
Of course, I mean all that in a good way.
Our Camera Club had it's year end picnic today and part of the activities on the agenda was a photo shoot in a local conservation area with an objective of 5 themes. One of those was "go with the flow."
This image would have been my submission as I thought there was an interesting juxtaposition of the water flow and the fellow patiently following his partner's directions.
I think it's actually the first time I've used jpeg in this camera. Normally, it's strictly RAW.
I want something good to die for,
To make it beautiful to live.
I can go with the flow.
Do you believe it in your head?

Found poetry. This hand-painted stone, found sitting exactly as you see it here, nicely connects both the bohemian atmosphere of the town and the image of my wife soaking her hike-weary feet in the silty waters of the Kennicott River.
Although this appears to be a staged prop, it was in fact pure happenstance. I stumbled upon this piece of poetry on the shore of the Kennicott River, in the tiny historic — and bohemian — town of McCarthy, Alaska. It was impossible to ignore the juxtaposition of this poem and the image of my wife relaxing by the fast-moving river. No need to pose or set up a thing.
