From our tour guide - the Franciscan monks who used the bones of approximately 5000 corpses, built this to send a message to the nobles that in death, no one can tell the difference between the rich and the poor, royal or common.

i put this place on google maps before it got the new roof

Indicated by green, traffic on A10 North East Rd or Sudholz Rd can turn left at the intersection as usual.

However, as right-hand turns at the intersection are no longer possible, northbound traffic on A10 North East Rd (indicated by blue) would have to turn left onto Blacks Rd and right onto Sudholz Rd when going south-east to Paradise and other suburbs. Indicated by red, southbound traffic on A10 North East Rd about to head north-west would then have to turn left onto Sudholz Rd and make a u-turn at the Sudholz Rd/Lyons Rd intersection.

Kind of strange, but it helps peak-hour traffic on North East Rd flow more smoothly.

How lucky was this? When I was on The Ruddington Connection going back to Nottingham, This car has parked up right outside a house but not good for the car in the house since it can't get out. The camera was covered up here because of the continuous rain we kept getting and to get this photo, My bus stopped at a good point at the bus stop. It may be a once in a lifetime capture but I've seen it before and the first time I had my camera out too. The only point was if the bus was every 10 minutes instead of 30, I would've got out and investigated it. If it was on the roads and the cameras were on, I might've been on the photo. Remember, if you see this car around, make sure you get a picture since you might only see it once.

「為了2006世足賽趕工」:歐洲第一大火車站--德國柏林中央車站

It is now Europe's largest two-level railway station

I grew up on the East Side of Toledo, Ohio (Utah Street), not far from the Maumee River, and with a pretty clear view of downtown.

The I-280 bridge towards the top was originally named after Toledo's first casualty in the Korean War. At some point (mid 70s, I think) some Federal bureaucrat came in and told the city that they couldn't name an interstate bridge because it was Federal property. I'm pretty sure that years later that was changed and that the bridge is now named after Martin Luther King, Jr.

Just north of the South End bridge is a railroad trestle from which Juice Box took a photo from an Amtrak train.

The Anthony Wayne Bridge, as well as the Anthony Wayne Trail (which isn't attached to the bridge in any way) were named after "Mad" Anthony Wayne. There was a playground underneath the bridge that we spent a lot of time at as kids. We also climbed into the bridge's structure once in a while (avoiding mucho, mucho pigeon shit!)... once, I climbed a drain pipe (that ran from the bridge's road surface) and as I was about to step over to the bridge's concrete base, I fell about ten feet (or more) and landed flat on my back. Fortunately, I only had the wind knocked out of me. Well, that and the desire to climb the bridge again!

Here's another example of the "Escher Effect" that's sometimes seen in satellite pictures. This pic was screen-grabbed from Google Maps.

The effect is caused when two separate airplane or satellite pics are taken of different sections/plots of a city, and then stitched together. Each pic is taken from a different angle, so the taller buildings' pics are taken with different perspective points, causing them to appear to lean toward or away from each other.

See my other Escher Effect Pics.
