Goodbye, colorful reflection

I want to quench my flame

I want to change my direction

I want to leave the frame

It is with a very broken heart that I inform you that on October 29 our sweet, sweet Matteo passed away suddenly, cause unknown. As most of you know, my husband and I are out of town. My son is taking care of Theo and Matteo. When he returned home from work Saturday evening he found Matteo lying still on the floor. He rushed him to the emergency Vet but it was too late. Our sweet boy has passed on. He was too young.

Those of you who have beloved animals can understand how much a part of our family Matteo was. I don't know how Theo will cope without his brother. I don't know how any of us will cope in the short term.

Even though I spent a day taking photos in a very beautiful park up here, I don't know when I'll be back on. We will drive home and spend some time comforting each other until we can handle the loss.

I'm sorry to have posted such sad news here. But I've shared the boys with Flickr ever since they joined our family, so I felt you should all know. See you all again in the near future.

November was the ninth month of the Roman calendar, which began with the month of March.

Yesterday I wanted to take a portrait of her ... I was late. She had so much grace and beauty.

Thank you SO much, SL by the sea www.flickr.com/groups/2988137@N20/ for choosing my little pic for your banner! You have NO idea how tickled I am!

Today we have snow. Winter is here!!!

Look mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky.

The new moon was asking to be photographed (shot without a tripod, which was not fun).

...until next time.

Good morning everyone. Just a single pic of a Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta Canadensis). Which very well could be my last for a long while as I've haven't seen any for a few days now and very likely they have headed north to their normal habitat and range in Canada.

As I've mentioned before, although a permanent resident up north, it regularly irrupts south for the winter if its food supply fails. But the time between now and it occurring again could be years. Last time was the winter of 2011 - 2012. Five yeas ago, so it could be that long or longer before I see any of these Nuthatches again.

Update...I was in error. My little nuthatch friends are still with us. In spite of not seeing any for a few days it seems I was premature in thinking they had headed back north. Wrong...I saw two less than an hour ago.

Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you have a most pleasant weekend.

September...time to stock up and get the underground stash ready. Chipmunks prefer to gather nuts and seeds that will not perish, and they hoard them in underground tunnels which can be as long as 30 feet. In winter, they enter a state of torpor, a deep sleep where their body temperature drops to 40F, and they wake occasionally to eat their stored food.

Yep..another utility box artwork to chase the monday and everyday blues ;-))

Goodbye 2021 - sadly we lost our my brother-in-law today.

It's the third day of autumn down our side of the world.

Have you ever noticed how all these years, no one ever asks what is actually in the glass sitting there as they contemplate if it is half full or empty?

Doesn't this matter just as much if not more?

Goodbye or hello. You choose. It changes minute by minute.
