The blue hour is now very strong when there is snow on the ground. In post-processing, I reduced the intensity of the blue color because otherwise it would have been too flashy, although realistic. The blue hour is a wonderful phenomenon. In Finland, we talk about the blue moment, because it only lasts about 15 minutes either before sunrise or after sunset.
And the moon, it was almost full over the snowy trees. The view mesmerized me and I forgot that my fingers were freezing in the cold frost while photographing this landscape of a blue moment.

Isle of Skye
One of the many Isle of Skye sunset photos which haven’t been posted before. It’s here now because of a comment left by Vince on a previous upload on Christmas Day, on this photo.

This morning was mostly overcast. I figured it would remain cold and grey. However, for a just a minute, the sun broke through. And then, it was gone. This time, using the Carl Zeiss Flektogon 20mm on Driftwood Beach for the first time.Continuing the "Boneyard Journeys."
Since I was young I learned to respect nature. For me, nature is a gift of the Creator so that we believe in Him more and worship Him alone.
Photography so strengthened this respect in me that I feel nature waving me goodbye whenever I turn my back for my return home journey.
Do you feel as such? I wonder.

One of my common loon babies I followed all summer long, now a juvenile, taking flight. This made my morning! There was a lot of mist on the lake so couldn't believe my eyes when he popped up in front of my kayak when I thought he was already gone. His parents left quite a while ago. After a few minutes of gawking at each other he let off a cool sound before lift off... almost as if he was saying goodbye....

Thank you for your amazing 70 years of dedication and service.
After her state funeral at Westminster Abbey today, she will travel to Windsor Castle, to be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Prince Philip in St George's Chapel.
