Tessa has just a few months to live.

Fighting back against hospital visits, endless tests, drugs with excruciating side-effects, Tessa compiles a list. It's her To Do Before I Die list. And number one is sex.

Released from the constraints of 'normal' life, Tessa tastes new experiences to make her feel alive while her failing body struggles to keep up.

Tessa's feelings, her relationships with her father and brother, her estranged mother, her best friend, her new boyfriend, all are painfully crystallized in the precious weeks before Tessa's time finally runs out.

My review - This was a hard book to read knowing what was going to happen at the end. I saw quite a bit of criticism of the book and wondered how anyone could really know exactly what they would do if they were in this situation. Being told your dying is one thing, but being only 16 years old and being told your going to die is pretty heavy. Tessa did some crazy things, but I can'y in good faith say I would have never have done the same. People deal with death in their own ways. You don't have to agree with it, but you should understand why they do the things they do. It's a powerful novel and it draws you straight in to her world.

“It's written, 'seek and ye shall find'. But first, 'imagine what you seek'.

Otherwise, you will end up searching everything everywhere forever.”

2016 Project 365 (366?) Day 7.

Not a great picture today. It's hard to think of something to photograph when it's been a really busy day.

I've challenged myself to read 50 books on Goodreads. I read a lot anyway, but I have my last year of Uni and Teacher Training to worry about this year!

When I saw "short" I had plans for very short people next to tall people, or a plug not reaching an outlet. But it's December 31 and all I can think about is how I fell SHORT of reaching several goals this year (hopefully 113 in 2013 won't be one of them! 5 more to go!)

What I'm reading tonight...

a old favorite.

This book's cover is a particular favorite of mine-- Jody A. Lee is an amazing artist and usually any book illustrated by her has at least a 50% or better chance of being right up my alley.

...my heart is held forever by this place," she said. "I cannot leave.”
