coming back from pantabangan dam we were caught up in this huge traffic jam along the national highway. i went down the car to check the cause of traffic and saw this procession. so to while the time i took the opportunity to start a photo ops. good friday procession is common in the philippines during lent. the procession depicts the suffering and death of jesus christ using life size statues carried on floats. the floats are usually towed by devotees along a prescribed route whilst performing the 14 stations of the cross.

A Good Friday art project. I really enjoyed the creation of it, and left it on an Ealing park bench with a label inviting someone to take it home. I watched for a while. Two Asian guys inspected it and left it. Later four young people were playing near the bench. A girl kicked the plant on the floor. A boy put the plant back in the pot and put it back on the bench. She kicked it off again, so he went and put it against a nearby tree. The label had disappeared by now, so who knows what will happen...

 

The letters and the white part of the flag are taken from the Kairos Palestine document in Arabic and English, a call from Palestinian Christians to the world to stand by them against injustice and apartheid and for peace.

Good Friday 2014 celebrated at St. Ignatius Church, Kelana Jaya on Friday, April 18th, 2014.

Celebrant: Father Lucas Ng, Father Andrew Wong and Father Philip Tan.

St Bartholomew's Church, Penn, Wolverhampton runs a Good Friday project for up to 100 school children.

This is one of their creations which is lighting up a dark corner.
