Coins are placed at the top of the track near the golden Buddha image and ride the rails down to be deposited in the belly of another Buddha.
This area used to be home to thousands of elephants. The elephants would harvest teak wood. The teak is no longer there due to greed/overharvesting. (Please remember this when purchasing teak--it kills elephants and local communities.) Now, the Thai government is working to save the remaining elephants and their mahouts.
