5 storey building collapsed on 4.1.14 at 2.30pm, Ruby Residency, Chaudi, Canacona, Goa. Killing at least 30.
It took them about 100 minutes (more than 1.5hrs) to retrieve a body which was badly entangled with beams, iron rods etc. Spotted at 3.15pm finally pulled out at 4.55pm.
As the hearse van about to leave at 5.15, they spotted another body with just head and shoulders visible, as if the body in standing position. NDRF and Goa fire Services doing tuff / good job. Volvo Crusher had to pull out pipes, rods, beams etc. It even had to break the retaining wall as seen in pic

Antruz Lalitak Bandora, also awarded the best cultural institution. The best library award award to St Xavier's College, Mapusa, while best librarian award given to Sadanand R Shirgaonkar and Mohandas Naik.

Hardly one kilometre away from Mangueshi is the village Mardol where nestles the temple of Sri Mahalasa. While it is commonly understood that Mahalasa is a form of "Shakti", "Madalasa" or "Narayani", the deity is also being worshipped as the manifestation of Lord Vishnu as "Mohini". It has exquisite wooden carvings of ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Huge round pillars held the 'Sabhamandapa' at the entrance, which is being reconstructed to recapture the glorious past of the original temple situated at Verna in "Salcete Taluka".
