We got a heck-of-a-storm while we where at the cabin over the 4th. Most of us were standing in the corner near the tree when it fell. We got lucky! We lost 4 big oaks and 2 huge pines. All told 1 dead, dozens injured and 90,000 without power from the Dakota's to Wisconsin. We had no power for 48 hours.
Hanneke got one in the water-course around the Zuid-Plaspolder.

Been climbing.. Got 'midged' at Stanage Edge.. (you can see one of the little chaps and some of his mashed mates after leaving their marks here on my wrist! - see notes)
Retreated to Millstone Edge where midges & many climbers fear to tread!
Led two routes HS4a & VS4b..

Spent good couple of hours today with fellow Strobist, Jason, continually dripping milk out of a syringe and setting off strobes manually.
Seriously about 100 frames later and we might have got a few shots. Never quite got what we were after but this will be a good start - I think we learnt some lessons on the day, which is the whole purpose of the exercise.

This cow was headed to the slaughter house when someone pointed out that he was wearing the "mitten", the shape of our state. He got a lot of media publicity a couple years ago and now resides on this farm.
Ya i freakin' got err!She is Dead Tired Frankie Stein. Mah first Frankie Stein ever! Like it a bit better then the basic one. I LOVE HER!!! At first i thought i have dolls head problems with her , but NO , cause that's pretty much the way that Monster High Heads are. So yeah .

This little girl is the kid of the owners of a bar/restaurant I sometimes go to. She was really curious about the camera and is quite a chatter.
We've got a real problem with flies at the moment, so I figured I might as well take a photo of one if the little bugs. This is with a Canon 100 Macro lens at F 2.8. I like how it makes the background seem "magical".
