A short hike off the highway through Custer State Park. This was my first time in the park and I found it to be a beautiful park.

Standing 94-feet, Ganoga Falls is the tallest of the 22 named waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park. The air and mist coming off the water as it rushes over the rocks lowers the temperature and the sound is almost deafening.
I caught this beauty preening late one evening. He held this pose for a while before flying off deeper into the woods in response to the call of his mate.

I spent Friday hiking at Ricketts Glen State park. RGSP is comprised of 13,000+ acres and spans Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia Counties in Pennsylvania. The Glens Natural area holds 22 free-flowing waterfalls that cascade through the hillside. The hiking is difficult at times but is well worth the effort. This is a section of smaller falls that flows just below one of the most popular in the park, Oneida Falls, which you can see in the upper-right background.

This bald cypress tree was most likely damaged in a storm and the cleanup crew left the stump that is providing food for plant life and wildlife as it slowly decays in the swamp. Nature takes care of it's own without drawing attention to the important function it lends back to itself.

If you are visiting Andorra la Vella and want to venture out of the capital city for a short hike, climb up to Sant Vicenç d'Enclar and continue through the woods to see the Enclar River. You will be surrounded by forest, but you will start to hear the sounds of rushing water as you get closer to the river. It’s just a nice relaxing place to visit after your hike up the mountain.

This was the last image I took on the way home from my Scottish road trip, through the Highlands. It had been stormy on the way back, but for a brief moment the sun came out. I liked the way it danced on the mountains. Although this image doesn't have a focus point, I still like it. It reminds me to stay present, to live moment by moment.
