Shirakawa-go (Shirakawa Village) is a Japanese mountain settlement in what was once considered a wild and unexplored region. Because of the area’s natural environment, with high mountains and heavy snowfall, interaction with neighboring regions was limited. However, this also created the conditions for the development of unique cultural practices and lifestyles. Now registered as a World Cultural Heritage site.

I took this shot on the road to Sanjay's village near the town of Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh,India.These two ladies had collected some kind of greens ( or saag as it is called in hindi) from the fields and were going home.
Women in rural India still lead very difficult lives full of hard work and very little pleasure.I always marvel at how they can still be so warm,welcoming and cheerful.
No Dvořák or William Arms Fisher or New World here, but he is surely going home (with bucket of precious water)...
I waited so long for the Honey Garlic to flower this year, and when it did, by the time I got around to photographing it the flowers were already starting their upwards climb to become the little Cinderella Castle seed-heads you see towards the top of this image. When these first flower, all of the flowers hang downwards like bells, then through the season they gradually dry and point upwards, you can then cut them, dry them off properly and have them indoors as decoration through the winter.
I’d love someone to do a time-lapse video of them going through this process because it is fascinating to watch it happen gradually 🌸

I was going to say something about all the shopping I've been doing, yet here I am wearing the first ever dress I bought in SL.
A female Common Shelduck (Tadorna tadorna) was framed while passing by closely to join its friends nearby. I tried for long time but only managed this one from a reasonable distance. I love the wing and head positions here with a gorgeous blurry backdrop! Pics was taken from the vicinity of Teesta River Barrage in North Bengal, India.

Things don't always go as we plan ! Rode that young mare today, she's in training and the start of the seance was really good, until those two girls in the paddock next to the arena decided to play around ! The young mustang saw them and decided she'll play with them, so she started to buck and forget I was there, it was kinda fun but it was hard to stay on her ! Did I fall or did I stayed on ? I'll let you guess !

Horned Grebe focused on an American Coot to make sure it knows that this territory belongs to Grebes. Shortly after this photo the Grebes dived and moments after being underneath the water the American Coot scurried away to the other end of the pond. Once the waves settled it was apparent the Grebe strategically poked the Coot from beneath the water surface.
Probably won't have much time for another shot today. Had to take my yougest to the doctor this morning. This is a shot on my way to work afterwards. It's a gloomy and gray day with a bit of rain. The light had just turned green when I snapped this.

Geum rivale, the water avens, is a flowering plant in the genus Geum within the family Rosaceae. Other names for the plant are nodding avens, drooping avens, cure-all, water flower and Indian chocolate. It is native to the temperate regions of Europe, Central Asia and parts of North America, where it is known as purple avens. It grows in bogs and damp meadows, and produces nodding red flowers from May to September.
