This is a seawater pool,connected to the sea by the lock gates that can see in the background just left of centre. The last time that the sea froze in these parts was last year,but before then I cannot remember when.Slightly under exposed to catch the colours of the wonderful low winter sun.

Sarah's cousin who emigrated to Australia 30 years ago. He rode across Europe starting from the east coast of Russia a couple of years ago and decided to ride his bike from Vancouver BC to Montreal down the east coast to Houston and up the west coast. So he had his bike shipped to Canada, got on the plane, and rode his bike clear across Canada and down to our place in DC. This morning he got back on his bike (a BMW) and hit the road again is on his way to Texas. A true free spirit and my hero!!!

This was my first time attending and attempting fireworks at Global Fest, which is weird, since I've lived in Calgary for 16 years. It was hard to choose a favourite, but I did like the little starbursts on this one. I learned a bit and made a few notes for going to Global Fest in the future!

This has to be the most impressive sandcastle i have ever seen!! It even stayed standing in flood conditions in Stratford!
