Coming into breeding colours. One of our 'Global warming' success stories, with numbers rising year-on-year since they first bred here back in 2012.
For the Great White Egret colonies on the Avalon Marshes, 2024 was another record-breaking year, with 100 young fledged from 54 nests !!

My wife and I ventured across the state yesterday to visit a couple of iced-over lighthouses. This is the St. Joseph North Pier Light. It was brutally cold, but as always, so much fun.
Today post obviously about climate change , just reminding of the reasons by Burning or cutting down trees reverses the effects of carbon sequestration and releases greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide) into the atmosphere. Furthermore, deforestation changes the landscape and reflectivity of earth's surface, Global warming may increase the intensity and frequency of droughts in many areas, creating more intense and frequent wildfires.

Respecting one another takes us in the right direction. We all have our traditions and ways of life, which, if we choose to we can use to our benefit by learning from one another and appreciating and embracing our differences.
The only conclusive evidence I've seen of so called global warming. I don't know who Heather is but evidently shes "HOT".

Who doesn't love delicious buttery corn? ... except, it is January so our local supply is pretty much depleted. But never fear - if you stop at the Dollar Store you can purchase vacuum sealed packages of pre-cooked corn from Thailand for only $2!!! 1 minute (or so the package says) in the microwave and it's ready to eat! So I sampled my photo prop ... yuck! ... tasteless !!! I'll stick with the corn that's grown locally even if it means waiting until next fall. (Although according to the package best-before date of October 2016, this corn could still be around then!)
