Famose in tutto il mondo, queste magnifiche vetrate policrome, della misura di metri 4 per 2,8 circa, sono state realizzate dal grande artista ebreo di origine bielorussa Marc Chagall in due anni di lavoro, tra il 1960 e il 1961, ed installate nel 1962 nella sinagoga del centro medico universitario Hadassah di Gerusalemme. Ogni vetrata, dominata da un colore diverso, è un microcosmo del caratteristico e fantastico mondo di Chagall, dove, tra realtà e immaginazione, egli rappresenta il suo profondo senso di identificazione con la storia e la cultura del popolo ebraico e, ispirato dalle sacre scritture, ritrae, tra simboli e fantasiose figure di fiori e animali, i dodici figli di Giacobbe e le dodici tribù di Israele. Lo speciale processo di applicazione del colore utilizzato dall'artista, ha permesso l'utilizzo di tre colori differenti in ogni lastra senza richiedere la separazione in piombo.
Dedicated to St Leonard, the church stands on the site of an earlier 12th century church, which similar to many others was demolished during the Victorian period. The present church standing on the edge of Charlecote Park was instigated and paid for by Mrs Mary Elizabeth Lucy, whom’s family resided at Charlecote Park. The church contains the Lucy family vault.
John Gibson designed the church and Mrs Lucy laid the foundation stone during April 1850. Erected from blocks of ashlar stone, a large rectangular dressed stone with even faces and square edges the church remains much the same as when Mrs Lucy planned it.

He is depicted on the east window in Lelant church because the church of Towednack, named after him, used to be in Lelant parish. He is also remembered in Gunwallow and Landewednack, villages on the Lizard. He spent time in Brittany where he founded the abbey of Landévennec.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert (Czech: metropolitní katedrála svatého Víta, Václava a Vojtěcha) is a Roman Catholic metropolitan cathedral in Prague, the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. Up to 1997, the cathedral was dedicated only to Saint Vitus, and is still commonly named only as St. Vitus Cathedral.
This cathedral is an excellent example of Gothic architecture and is the biggest and most important church in the country. Located within Prague Castle and containing the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, the cathedral is under the ownership of the Czech government as part of the Prague Castle complex.[1] Cathedral dimensions are 124 × 60 meters, the main tower is 96.5 meters high, front towers 82 m, arch height 33.2 m.[2]

Chaque maquette reproduit à taille réelle (7 mètres de haut) une baie du bas-côté sud de la cathédrale. Le thème de ces six vitraux en est la Pentecôte, le "souffle " du titre est donc le souffle divin...

Each model reproduces in full size (7 meters high) a bay on the south side of the cathedral.
London Paddington Station
Another shot of the awesome Paddington Station in London by the great victorian engineer that is Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Shot in black and white, cropped and then just adjusted brightness, contrast and shadows.

Paddington station, also known as London Paddington, is a major National Rail and London Underground station complex in the Paddington area of central London, England.
The site is a historic one, having served as the London terminus of the Great Western Railway and its successors since 1838. Much of the current mainline station dates back to 1854, and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The site was first served by Underground trains in 1863, and was the original western terminus of the Metropolitan Railway, the world's first underground railway.
Despite its historic nature, and the wish to preserve many of its features, the complex has recently been modernised, and has a new role as the terminus of the dedicated Heathrow Express service. The complex is in Travelcard Zone 1.
The first station to open in the Paddington area was a temporary terminus for the Great Western Railway on the west side of Bishop's Bridge Road. The first GWR service from London to Taplow, near Maidenhead, began at Paddington in 1838. After the opening of the main station in 1854, this became the site of the goods depot. After years of dereliction, it is now being redeveloped as part of a mixed residential and business area called Paddington Waterside. The main Paddington station between Bishops Bridge Road and Praed Street was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel who was later commemorated by a statue on the station concourse (known as The Lawn), although much of the architectural detailing was by his associate Matthew Digby Wyatt. The station opened in 1854. The glazed roof is supported by wrought iron arches in three spans, respectively spanning 20.70 m (68 ft), 31.20 m (102 ft) and 21.30 m (70 ft). The roof is 213 m (699 ft) long, and the original roof spans had two transepts connecting the three spans. It is commonly believed that these were provided by Brunel to accommodate traversers to carry coaches between the tracks within the station. However recent research, using early documents and photographs, does not seem to support this belief, and their actual purpose is unknown. The Great Western Hotel was built on Praed Street in front of the station in 1851-1854 by architect Philip Charles Hardwick, son of Philip Hardwick (designer of the Euston Arch). The station was substantially enlarged in 1906-1915 and a fourth span of 33 m (109 ft) was added on the north side, parallel to the others. The new span was built in a similar style to the original three spans, but the detailing is different and it does not possess the transepts of the earlier spans. On Armistice Day 1922, a memorial to the employees of the GWR who died during the First World War was unveiled by Viscount Churchill. The bronze memorial, depicting a soldier reading a letter, was sculpted by Charles Sargeant Jagger and stands on platform 1.
In 1961, the decomposing body of a male child was found in a case at the station. Paper stuffed into his mouth was the cause of death. His identity has never been discovered.
A very early construction by Brunel was recently discovered immediately to the north of the station. A cast iron bridge carrying the Bishop's Bridge Road over the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal was uncovered after removal of more recent brick cladding during the complete replacement of the adjacent bridge over the railway lines at the mouth of the station.

Très belle scène non identifiée, où aucun Saint auréolé ne figure (ce qui est assez rare sur les vitraux d'église) et où ce qui ressemble à une femme de la noblesse (Reine ?) ou du clergé (Abbesse ?) redresse charitablement un malheureux jeune homme, tombé au sol au pied d'un chêne (ou tombé du chêne ?).
Elle ne le ressuscite sans doute pas, sinon elle serait automatiquement promue Sainte, et donc auréolée... Cqfd.
Les spectateurs à droite, simples passants ou entourage de la dame, manifestent leur étonnement, voire leur stupéfaction... Allez savoir pourquoi !
Tout ceci sous la protection de Dieu le Père, dont la main salvatrice perce les nuages d'un rayon laser rouge du plus bel effet pyrotechnique, juste au dessus de la scène..
De la vraie BD médiévale comme j'aime.

Its incredible how s my passion for photography, last Saturday 8th Agust. i woke up around 3.30 am to get a glass of water, and throught the kitchen glasswindow i saw a white light coming from above, went to the inside patio and saw origin of this light...decide to get my gear, my camera and telezoom...got a couple of pictures around 6 or 7. Then download them just with a minor crop and trimm, here 's the result...its 4,18am and im sleepy but very sure of this: God i love photography!!!
This image is part of my Personal Photography Project at Staffordshire University towards my exhibition. The idea behind the project is a voyeuristic idea of looking in on people and their daily lives. Though they may look natural all the scenes are staged.
