This is a mediocre photo (noise, focus or motion blur) that, having bought into the Topaz suite, I’ve attempted to revive with DenoiseAI, SharpenAI and GigapixelAI. Wouldn’t have posted it otherwise. Critical feedback welcome. Riverstone Wetlands, Sugar Land, Texas.

Here is the same photo I posted yesterday except I selected the kingfisher and the branch it was sitting on and made the rest of the image black to give a better sense of finding it in the dark. I then ran it through Topaz Studios Gigapixel AI to increase the size 2X which also increases detail. I then downsized it to 3000 pixels wide for uploading here. I would be glad to know if you like this image better than the image which showed the background lit up by the flash and my headlamp.

This is a photograph of a large, outdoor sconce that partially illuminates the entrance to the Citrus Grillhouse, one of Vero Beach, Florida’s finer oceanside dining spots. One may watch the moon rise over the Atlantic Ocean from it’s open patio. Magical.

Die zwischen 1960 und 1990 gebaute tschechoslowakische Straßenbahn vom Modell Tatra T3 ist (zusammen mit der sowietischen KTM-5) die meistgebaute Straßenbahn der Welt. Noch heute sieht man sie nicht nur in Prag sehr häufig, sondern auch in vielen anderen Städten des ehemaligen Ostblocks.

Vor einiger Zeit hab ich im Karwendelgebirge ein Bild mit Schmetterling + Biene(?) auf einer Blume geschossen. Mit 120mm kam ich nicht so nah ran, zudem hat die Kamera nicht korrekt fokussiert. Heute hab ich mir das Bild nochmals vorgeknöpft, mit TOPAZ Sharpen AI das Focus-Problem etwas korrigiert und danach das auf 1460 x 974 px ausgeschnittene Bild mit TOPAZ Gigapixel AI auf 2922 x 1948 px vergrößert (also 1,4 MP auf 5,7 MP). Natürlich ist das Ergebnis nicht mit einem sauber fokussierten Bild vergleichbar, das mit 500 mm Tele geschossen wurde, aber ich finde es ist trotzdem ein gewaltiger Qualitätsgewinn, verglichen mit dem Originalbild, das ich kurz zuvor hochgeladen habe.

Guess what I found in the archives??? I don't know either... 😂 This was magnified with Topaz's App called Gigapixel AI and I love it...

Gleicher Standpunkt, gleiches Objektiv (14-30mm) wie beim Bild zuvor. Es heißt zwar immer 20 MP sind vollkommen ausreichend, doch ich freue mich immer über die 46 MP meine Z7ii, da lassen sich dann oft hübsche, eigenständige Motive im Bild entdecken. Ausschnittvergrößerung, Bearbeitung, bitteschön. 😁

Same viewpoint, same lens (14-30mm) as in the previous photo. While they always say 20 MP is perfectly sufficient, I'm always happy with the 46 MP of my Z7ii, as it often allows me to discover beautiful, distinctive subjects in the image. Cropping, editing, there you go. 😁

…und während ich noch so, der Verzweiflung nahe, nach einer optimalen Komposition Teufelsmauer/Sonnenaufgang Ausschau halte, verpasse ich doch beinahe die kleine Sensation, die sich zum selben Zeitpunkt hinter mir abspielt. Ein pachtvoller Vollmond geht exakt hinter der Rosstrappe unter. Whow !!

Wer den Harz kennt weiß, die Roßtrappe gehört zusammen mit dem nahen Hexentanzplatz und natürlich dem Brocken zu den spektakulärsten Aussichtspunkten, die sich vollkommen ohne körperlichen Aufwand erreichen lassen. Erstere beide jeweils mit einer Seilbahn ausgehend von dem nahen Städtchen Thale.

Ja, solche Motive kann man heutzutage faken, aber, hey, ich steige nicht über Absperrungen, da werd ich doch bei so einem Motiv nicht bescheißen. Wer mich kennt, weiß das 😊.

Und ja, solche Motive kann man auch planen. Mit der App Photopills lässt sich exakt berechnen, wann der Mond wie und wo untergeht. Bei mit hatte an dem Morgen allerdings die Teufelsmauer Priorität, das mit dem Mond ist das Glück des Fleißigen 😁.

Diesen Murmeltier - Ringkampf durfte ich beim Abstieg von der Fuorcla Gravaselvas zum Julierpass aus ca. 40 m Entfernung beobachten. Ich hatte zwar ein 300er Tele im Rucksack, jedoch wagte ich den Objektivwechsel nicht, sondern genoss die Szene und machte ein paar Bilder mit den 120 mm meines Standard-Zooms. Dieses Bild stellt eine ca. 30-fache Vergrößerung des Originalbildes dar, welches ich dann mittels der KI von TOPAZ Photo AI vergrößert habe.

I was lucky enough to observe this marmot wrestling match from about 40 meters away while descending from the Fuorcla Gravaselvas to the Julier Pass. Although I had a 300mm telephoto lens in my backpack, I didn't dare change lenses. Instead, I enjoyed the scene and took a few pictures with my standard 120mm zoom. This image is approximately 30x magnified from the original image, which I then enhanced using TOPAZ Photo AI.

Stippvisite im Schloss Augustusburg in Brühl bei Köln. 1725 bis 1728 erbaut, diente der repräsentative Bau in der neueren Zeit lange für Staatsempfänge. Die Bundespräsidenten empfingen hier illustre Staatsgäste wie Queen Elisabeth II, den Schah von Persien, König Gustav von Schweden, und, und, und…. Heute kann man viele der üppig ausgestatteten, prachtvollen Räume im Rahmen einer Führung besichtigen.

Es gibt einen kleinen Schlosspark, der zwar einst im englischen Stil umgestaltet wurde, aber seine barocke Vergangenheit nicht verleugnen kann.

Today, many of the lavishly furnished, magnificent rooms can be visited as part of a guided tour.

There is a small castle park, which was once redesigned in the English style, but cannot deny its baroque past.

Der Bagger 293 ist mit einer Länge von 226 m und einer Höhe von 96 m das größte und schwerste Landfahrzeug der Erde. Wir befinden uns westlich von Köln am Braunkohle Tagebau Hambach. Hier hat der Bagger 293 zusammen mit 6 nahezu baugleichen Kollegen auf einer Fläche von 85 qkm ein Loch von über 400 m Tiefe ausgehoben. 2030 wird der Abbau eingestellt, dann wird versucht das Gelände zu renaturieren.

I saw this little hoverfly on one of the roses when I was shooting this am but when I moved a little closer, he flew.. I thought he landed on one of the leaves that was in the shadows I took a couple of shots, thinking that maybe I was getting a picture.. As you see I did but I used Topaz GigapixelAI to enlarge it and then other Photoshop tools to try to bring it out of the shadows.. Not bad but could be a lot better had I been able to see what I was shooting and a little bit closer...

Wir befinden uns hier an den berühmten Cliffs of Moher (Aillte an Mhothair) an der Westküste Irlands. Irland ist bekannt für seine saftigen, grünen Wiesen. Diese aber brechen hier aber in einer nahezu senkrechten, schroffen Felswand ab. Rund 150 m tiefer tobt der Atlantik. Die Wellen erreichen hier schon mal 10 m Höhe und, klatschen sie an den Fels, spritzt das Wasser bald 30 m hoch. Ein atemberaubendes (auch lautes) Schauspiel !! Baden is hier nich 😁.

Jumping Spider

Capture of a jumping spider that was wandering around the house, image was captured with a Nikon D610, Sigma 150mm Macro, ISO 1250, f/5.6, 1/250 seconds and consists of around 5 - 6 photos which were captured in rapid shutter mode and stacked using Helicon Focus. I finished off by editing the photo in Skylum's Luminar 4 (AI Enhance), Topaz Denoise, Topaz Sharpen and enlarged in Topaz Gigapixel (4x) before cleaning up the image (in-painting tool) in Affinity Photo (and doing some cropping). I have probably pushed the image a bit far in terms of enlarging as it is starting to show artifacts.

Die Svanen ist der größte Schwimmkran im Einzelhub der Welt. Mit ihrem einzelnen Kran hebt sie 8700 Tonnen. Es gibt zwar Schwimmkräne, die mehr heben, aber dann nur mit dem Einsatz von 2 Kränen.

Auf dem Bild befindet sie sich gerade in der Binzer Bucht vor Rügen. So wie derzeit so mach anderes Bau-, Arbeits- und Montageschiff. Tja, und dies erregt ziemlich die Gemüter der Leute vor Ort. Da werden nicht nur jede Mange offshore-Windparks installiert, sondern eben auch der Bau einer Pipeline in Erwägung gezogen zur Verbindung mit einem geplanten weiteren LNG-Terminal. Man fürchtet um das Ausbleiben der Touristen, sollten die Pläne realisiert werden. Ja, wäre schon schöner, wenn alles so bliebe, wie es ist, aber auch andernorts, wie im Schwarzwald oder im Alpenvorland verändert sich die Landschaft (Windparks...). Die Zeiten ändern sich. Und, ganz ehrlich, hätte ich die Wahl eines Urlaubsortes für meine Family zwischen Allgäu, wo jetzt kürzlich ein Bär durch die Wälder gestreift ist, und Rügen, wo ich mit dem Fernglas einen Schwimmkran draußen auf dem Meer erkennen kann, ich denke, ich würde mich für Rügen entscheiden.
