SMILE - ..."There’s always a reason to smile" :-)

A Smile has the magic of touching, softening and stealing the heart.

– Dr T.P.Chia

My Granddaughter Avarose has given me many reasons to smile, and I smile every time as I look at her picture that she drew for me for Thanksgiving this year.

Avarose came into our lives on April 2, 2009 ,weighing 4 lbs. 4 oz. and looking like a tiny plum and so I nicknamed her "Sugar Plum".

Now a vibrant healthy five and a half year old, she visits and brings me artwork to treasure forever. She also comes up with the funniest sayings that always put a "Smile" in my heart and on my lips.

At four she had a conversation with her Tante Lisa which made me smile. The conversation went like this;

Ava: That's a Big Ring!

Lisa: Yeah, I like Big Rings.

Ava: Is it too heavy to lift your hand?

Lisa: No

Ava: Can I try it on?

Ava: It's too big for my hand

and

Some other short sayings from Avarose since January 2014 which makes me smile.

I like sticky lollipops on my hands.

My girlfriend has a headache in her throat.

My favourite songs are Amazing Grace and the "Blue" song.

My favourite color is "Purple".

Ava was looking at photos posted on Flickr by you Sharleen and one photo with a ton of bugs were caught in a spider web.

Ava said, " look how many bugs there are on that spider web". Why are there so many bugs? Where is she, the spider? Did she go for a long walk?

And on another photo of yours, Ava said, look at that bee in the dragon fly flower, it chomps!

These comments truly made me smile.

And most recently in October of this year,

I was telling Ava when I was younger my family had to move because my room was too small for my sister and I.

Ava's response was,

Did the room Shrink?

I laughed and smiled at the innocence and mind of a child. They touch our hearts and make us whole.

There is nothing that can compare to a child's smile and the words spoken "I love you, Grandma".

To love my granddaughter and be loved by her.....

Gift of love... Blessed to be a blessing... While rushing to the items for tmr gift of love, "somehow" a hi leads to a smile with a couple who's held a similar list in their hand, divine fellowship along the aisle of Giant, amazingly how we just bonded and they are picking me up in the morning. GOD hears the whispers of my heart. .

Meeting the right people at the right place at the right time. #God #Godislove #giftoflove #nccgiftoflove

I crocheted this blanket for my daughter, Beverly, using Tif's (Dottie Angel ~ www.flickr.com/photos/dottieangel/4690848647/ ) 'ordinarily extraordinary' pattern. Beverly misses her 'ole Mum at times, so I wanted to make something for her to be able to hold and know that it was made by me especially for her. Every stitch I crocheted was made with love and hopefully when she wraps herself in it, she will know that I'm never 'not with her' because I am part of her, just as she is part of me :-)

Does Love Care…

By Fran S. Joane

Does love care, when you feel alone?

Does love care, when your hearts lost a home?

Does love care, when you have pain inside?

Does love care, when your broken heart died?

Does love care, when time passes by?

Does love care, when it’s time to die?

I’ll give thee, a rose to show that, I care…

Red rose for my love, I’ll lay by your hair.

… these are the children of the chef at KLPAC. We became friends from day 1 of setting up and they are my source of entertainment when the place gets quiet.

The children leave us when people arrive and come back when they’re gone. Someone asked if they were mine or my nephews since they were hugging me – lol. Gift of love from god for our exhibition? Perhaps.

I fell in love with Thailand and its people when I was there around the same time this year. We had arrived in Chiang mai at the onset of the Songkran festival.

A year later, it’s unfortunate that the capital is once again in turmoil. 2 parties are playing with the lives and livelihood of their gullible citizens just to seize power.

My memories of Songkran are still fresh. I pray that at least Chiang Mai escapes the chaos of Bangkok and that this moment will end soon.
