German Gifts is Rhinefeld's main gift shop, with this side of the store housing general merchandise and the Christmas shop. This half of the building was originally Vater Zeit (cuckoo clocks and Hummel figurine) when the park opened in May 1975; it and the space to its' left were collectively were renamed to German Gifts sometime in the early 1980s.
The new commission Gift Horse by artist Hans Haacke, was unveiled on Thursday 5 March 2015 in London’s Trafalgar Square.
Hans Haacke’s Gift Horse depicts a skeletal, riderless horse - a wry comment on the equestrian statue of William IV originally planned for the plinth. Tied to the horse’s front leg is an electronic ribbon displaying live the ticker of the London Stock Exchange, completing the link between power, money and history. The horse is derived from an etching by George Stubbs; the famous English painter whose works are represented in the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square.
A gift box for a set of meeple cufflinks. The paper on the lid of the box is a faux woodgrain. The interior of the box has felt that matches the color of the woodgrain.
The meeple with the heart on top is cut by hand out of felt.

For Our Daily Challenge - Box
From a book (Impressionist Garden Gift Boxes) of punch-out-easy-to-assemble small gift boxes.There were 18 and these are the last four. I have never seen a book of them since. The book was crazy expensive but I found it on a reduced-to-clear table at a bookstore. One of those good finds. The promo says - Perfect for candies, jewellery, love notes, small gifts, special treasures.

Instead of using paper gift bags I like to make fabric bags and my children's little friends seem to like them a lot more.

august 7th marked the EIGHT YEAR anniversary of when i got my first monster high doll, this draculaura ! it’s hard to believe it’s been that long.
( who’d have thought that 8 years later, I’d have a couple /hundred/ of these ghouls? )
she is still like new aside from one thing- glue seepage has become a big issue for her now and her hair’s pretty sticky. I’m going to try out the talc method on her soon!

From my friend, Tyler. It's a wonderful mouse. Different than most others, aside from the slick design. It is very smooth and glides across the mousemat much more smoothly than any other mouse I have used. The main two buttons are bit sensitive, but not necessarily in a bad way. Very smooth and light. Feels fast.

One of my brothers is getting married later this summer. His bride, Jen, picked wedding invitations that have a peacock on them and she plans to wear a peacock feather in her hair on her wedding day. Her colors are going to be a pale turquoise, white, and black. I decided to make her a set of 20 thank you cards as one of our wedding gifts to them - and, of course, I had to use a peacock and her colors!
To make the cards, I stamped the sentiment and peacock from Hero Arts CL447 Beautiful Peacocks onto 140# cold pressed watercolor paper. I wanted to use the watercolor paper, to give the cards a more substantial, elegant feel. I stamped them using Tsukineko VersaFine onyx black pigment ink for a crisp impression.
Next, I colored in the peacocks using Prismacolor colored pencils in 6 shades: PC1027-Peacock Blue (how appropriate!), PC905-Aquamarine, PC992-Light Aqua, PC912-Apple Green, PC910-True Green, and PC913-Spring Green. Then I applied Hero Arts CH235-5mm and CH236-4mm Diamond Gems to add sparkle and highlight the feathers.
The background is made from Bazzill Basics Frosted Teal textured cardstock. I stamped Hero Arts CG119 Flourish Background using Broken China Distress Ink. I also stamped the envelopes with one of the feathers to match from the Beautiful Peacocks set using Broken China Distress Ink.
I die cut and dry embossed the peacock panels using Spellbinders Nestabilities Curved Rectangles and my ProvoCraft Cuttlebug. The watercolor paper really took the dry embossing well. I adhered the peacock panels to the card base using foam squares for dimension.
It took longer than I thought to do the whole set of 20 ... and I didn't think I'd finish on time because I had jury duty (now over!) and my hubby had surgery. I just love how the set turned out!

The companies in Indonesia are having to get clever to try to get cloves through customs. One thing they're doing is gift-wrapping the package inside the shipping box. This is the second shipment we've received since the ban and both were gift-wrapped. The wrapping says "Love" and has a quote I like: "Love is not just looking into each other's eyes, but looking outward together in the same direction."
Anyway, we fully expect that the gov'mint will eventually win and we won't get cloves anymore. Probably soon. That sucks. I have been a kretek smoker for over a decade and would rather never smoke again than smoke American cigarettes, which have zero asthetic value but are purely disgusting smelling/tasting delivery devices for nicotine addicts' drug of choice, made from the nastiest (and chemically-treated) ingredients available. It is the difference between hot dogs and filet mignon. And even that isn't an accurate-enough comparison of the drastic difference.

Tough times call for tough measures! Due to the tanking economy, I decided to severely cut back on Christmas gifts this year. In order to soften the blow a bit, I made this gift tag and attached it to everyone's presents.
Santa was drawn in Photoshop on the graphic tablet, as well as the sketchy green oval. Everything was then imported into InDesign, where the text and the outer tag shape were added. Then I printed a bunch on card stock, cut them out with an X-Acto and punched a hole in the side.
