Seeing into the dark
Scenic woodland valley with 15 miles of paths and and a visitor centre in a 19th-century mill.
I just never knew what to do with street photography. I always took some street photos and then thought they were just boring and blah and gave up on them. I now have a newfound vision for this genre. Let's see where it takes me.

Standing on the Hopkins Landing Pier, the morning clouds begin to color as they catch the rays of the rising sun. The higher clouds appear pink, while the lower are closer to yellow.
It is a peaceful morning with only one other person who offers a friendly hello. He is out walking his dog and we talk in short, about this wonderful morning.

A beautiful Saturday morning in Central Illinois showcases two vintage units sitting side by side at the Alliance Grain Company elevator in Gibson City Illinois. One being a former Canadian Pacific SW1200RS (LTEX 1206) built in 1958. The other being BLOL 7561, a GP9 built by New York Central in 1956 and later being rebuilt into a chop nose GP10 by Conrail and eventually being bought by Class 3 railroad of The Bloomer Line. Both units await their next assignment for the new week. Taken: 9-18-21
I’m not one for roster shots but this too cool to pass up, usually the Bloomer high hood GP9 sits at the elevator but it’s down for repairs..so it was nice shooting a sunny Bloomer GP10 even though it’s sitting.

A pair of Guilford Geeps lead a loaded petcoke train out of BP Whiting under the Indiana Toll Road jumping on the NE Wye at Gibson to take it to Ivanhoe. Although this job typically uses CSX power, the lack thereof during the Holidays resulted in IHB power filling in to shuttle coke in and out of Whiting.
Yesterday I had a ride out with a photographer friend to the National Trust site, Hardcastle Crags near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. This is a shot of the famous Gibson Mill.
Gibson steps is part of the port campbell National park in Victoria, Australia. This was summer afternoon.

Sunset on the beach looking toward the Apostles via Gibson Steps, very hazy as a sea mist was rolling in giving a lovely softness and glow in the atmosphere with a cheeky little sunburst..

I've just come back from a great 2 week trip along the coast to Mornington Peninsula. The weather was variabile but I got out for many sunsets and sunrises. Hope you enjoy this one from the Ocean Road and happy holidays to everyone!
