WHITHER-CUM-NO LADYBIRD
Ladybirds are stirring from their winter hibernation. I spotted this one near a window of the Mansions this morning, a good spot for picking up the heat of the morning sun. This one seemed undecided whether or not to stay inside (and certainly starve) or fly outside (and probably starve - too early for the aphids).
Some time ago the 'Daily Mail' did us the service of warning us about an "invasion of foul-smelling foreign ladybirds". Some relief then when my nostrils confirmed that this bug passed the 'Daily Mail' test.
We've just had to rush poor Shogi to the vet and they have decided to keep him in.
As you know his previous owner wasn't very good with him and gave him chocolate.
this has agrivated his bowel so now he's on prescription food for a sensitive stomach.
I've been managing the kitten food for Guinevere and Shogi's pretty well by placing Guin's food on top of the cat tower where Shogi can't reach.
Last night while Shogi was asleep upstairs I fed Guinevere and kept the food on the floor.
Neither Greg nor I saw or heard Shogi and we freaked out when we saw him eating her food.
Half an hour later he was sick and was sick through the night.
He's looked very ill and not moved at all.
Before he was first diagnosed with Bowel desease he would improve during the day.
Today that didn't happen.
He just became worse so to the vets we went to explain.
He had a scan while we were there and they told us part of his bowel looks to be blocked.
They have placed him on an Anti-inflammatory and pain killers in case his bowel is so swollen it's touching together but to my shock they told me it could be cancer!
The Anti-inflammatory will help the swelling to go down so they will be able to take another look.
If there is still something there then they will have to operate.
I won't know any more until the morning although my phone will be on all night.

I'm regaining my confidence. I've been having a tough week and I've finally realized that the only way I can get through this all is to focus on the good. Like this photograph :)
I believe this to be the Golden-brown Fern Moth (Musotima nitidalis). It had accidentally found its way into the house. Happy Moth Monday everyone!
I have my hospital treatment in less than 48 hours. So I am hoping I feel much more energetic after that. :) I have quite the backlog of photos so will get those up as and when I can! Thank you for all the patience, kindness and support. <3

This is an oldie but goodie...a video of an American Goldfinch/Pine Siskin pool party in our fountain. I am sad to report the fountain cracked over the winter :(
