For such a small flower this little Geranium has such lovely colours and detail.Geraniums come in many colours.
Hardy geraniums are perfectly hardy in England. They make wonderful long flowering border plants and excellent weed supressing ground cover that is never invasive and is easy to control.

Geranium 'Patricia', mid May. Raised in the Orkneys (G. endressii x G. psilostemon) by Alan Bremner and named after Patricia Doughty. Large magenta flowers with a dark centre over most of the summer.
