Geranium 'Ann Folkard', early June. A popular hardy perennial with deep magenta flowers that bloom on long, wandering stems with bright green leaves that are yellow when young.
Hardy geraniums are perfectly hardy in England. They make wonderful long flowering border plants and excellent weed supressing ground cover that is never invasive and is easy to control.
Wish I had an UV filter - I bet those red streaks are vivid...this cranesbill or true geranium ( I don't remember the variety,) has very deeply cut leaves...spreads well.
I thought I'd better upload the rest of the photos I have of "April's flowers" ;before May! There's a set of about a dozen...
