La racine de cette espèce sauvage de géranium était autrefois utilisée pour tanner le cuir en raison de sa forte teneur en tanins.
I photographed these flowers at this location before, in October 2014 as it happens, and my up country neighbour, Overly Curious Bystander, kindly identified them for me as being Geraniums (Cranesbills), and are likely escapees from the nearby, well stocked, garden.

My middle son brought this home from school in June. We've successfully kept it alive (a surprise), and now it's actually flowered!

I think(?) this is the meadow cranesbill geranium around the pond in my garden (as compared to the pink smaller version that has magically appeared!).
