Gerald, a vain seagull, posing for me in front of lapping waves. His head shot will be sent to all talent agencies, a desperate last attempt to capitalize on his fading good looks.
A visit to The Solent by the American Navy makes an impressive site. The first day since their arrival on Monday that the sun has shone with a strong wind blowing down the Solent. Moored just off Stokes Bay where I live it has created a lot of interest with road traffic increasing a lot.

Terrific Views on the Somerset Levels of parents Flash and Gerald with their juvenile born in 2018 following a successful nesting season on West Sedgemoor
We collected him from Gloucestershire in a Fortnum & Mason hamper, fitted into the back of the LandRover with boxes of wine from the Three Choirs Vineyard nearby. He was just a few weeks old, and he wouldn't fit in a hamper now . .
This gorgeous little school house made me turn around and go back to get this shot. The sky was just a bonus. It's so sad that no one decided to save or use this lovely little building.

"Gerald Griffin was born in Limerick, Ireland, the son of a brewer. He went to London in 1823, becoming a reporter for one of the daily newspapers, and later turned to writing fiction. One of his most famous works is The Collegians, a novel based on a trial on which he had reported, that of John Scanlan, a Protestant Anglo-Irish man who murdered Ellen Hanley, a young Catholic Irish girl.] The novel was adapted for the stage as The Colleen Bawn by Dion Boucicault. In 1838, Griffin burned all of his unpublished manuscripts and joined the Congregation of Christian Brothers, a Catholic religious order, at the North Monastery in Cork, where he died from typhus fever."
Gerald was on the northeast corner of Adams and Financial Place. He was standing near a building holding a bag of cigarette butts. He smiled right away. He's been out here about two years. He stays with his "Auntie" when he can. He looked at his cigarettes and said, "I have a bad habit", with a smile. His Auntie doesn't let him smoke inside so he smokes outside instead. He was just a very gentle, soft-spoken man...
I was looking at the description of some street art on Market Street in San Francisco when this gentleman asked me "Do you speak to black people?" I laughed and said, "I do, do you speak to white people?" and he said "Speak to them, I used to be one!" We had a great chat and he agreed to a portrait and gave me his email address to send him his photo. I love this city!
Meet Gerald, a Milky Eagle Owl at Gauntlet Birds of Prey, Knutsford. Very vocal at the prospect of food.
