The Georgetown University Transportation Service (GUTS) bus provides easy access to many locations outside the immediate Georgetown neighborhood, including Dupont and Rosslyn (pass required to ride).
Andy Fraser and Robert Martin. Looks like Robert's got something on his mind here. He's bought one of Rab Wilson's '57 Flying Scot poetry cd and artist's book I see.
About Georgetown, Washington DC
Georgetown is a historic neighborhood, commercial, and entertainment district located in northwest Washington, D.C., situated along the Potomac River. Founded in 1751 in the state of Maryland, the port of Georgetown predated the establishment of the federal district and the City of Washington by 40 years. Georgetown remained a separate municipality until 1871, when the United States Congress created a new consolidated government for the whole District of Columbia. A separate act passed in 1895 specifically repealed Georgetown's remaining local ordinances and renamed Georgetown's streets to conform with those in the City of Washington.
The primary commercial corridors of Georgetown are the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue & M Street, which contain high-end shops, bars, restaurants, and the Georgetown Park enclosed shopping mall, as well as the Washington Harbour waterfront restaurants at K Street, NW, between 30th and 31st Streets. Georgetown is home to the main campus of Georgetown University and numerous other landmarks, such as the Volta Bureau and the Old Stone House, the oldest unchanged building in Washington. The embassies of France, Mongolia, Sweden, Thailand, and Ukraine are located in Georgetown.

Just finished my first day at a week long "intensive Bioethics Course" at Georgetown University in DC. Wow... My head is spinning! This is really going to be challenging week. The material is really deep. Some of the most acclaimed people in the study of bioethics are presenting then leading small group discussions. I am bouncing between auditorium presentations to a classroom of 12 discussing what we just heard. Despite sitting on the hospital's ethics' committee for the past 15+ years I am now realizing how little I know about the topic!
Barry's two great bikes. The green one took the second prize for best on show. It's really 'loaded for bear' with all the bags and layout. Great stuff. The judge told me it was a very close call between Robert Martin's bike and his. It could have went either way.
Robert Martin's three lovely Flying Scot bikes at the show. A preference for Swallow saddles it looks like.
I recently had the opportunity to serve as the photographer for the Etihad Airways Triathlon event at Georgetown Cupcake. Not only did I have fun interacting with the customers, staff, and flight attendants, but I had the opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes to the gourmet cupcake making process. And yes, I was full from cupcakes at the end of this shoot!
