I'm not sure what you call this stuff, but its all over the front of Anglia House, where my Dad worked for years, which is now being converted into negative equity units. I met Michelle Lambourne off that Gambit programme once when I sat in the gallery.

Part of a series from Trial Bay Gaol, NSW.
I liked the combination of lines, angles and curves. I positioned myself to frame the background pine trees in the windows.
Established in 1886, Trial Bay Gaol is the only example of a state prison specifically built to carry out public works. The intention was for prisoners to construct a breakwater in Trial Bay and create a safe harbour between Sydney and Brisbane.
The gaol and the breakwater were built using locally quarried pink granite, which is exceptionally hard and caused many problems throughout construction. The plans to build the breakwater were abandoned after 17 years, as the rough surf continued to wash away what progress was made.
After the failure of the breakwater scheme in 1903, the gaol closed for several years, as the prisoners were no longer needed there. However, in 1915, during the First World War, Trial Bay Gaol re-opened and was used as an internment camp for citizens of German descent until 1918.

The building was designed by two architectural firms working in conjunction: by the London-based Michael Wilford & Partners (MWP) and by DP Architects (DPA) of Singapore. The original design, presented to the public in 1994, consisted of unadorned glass cases over the theaters. Such a design would have created a greenhouse in the tropical climate of Singapore, but according to DPA director Vikas Gore some form of shading was always intended, and a cladding of aluminum sunshades was added to the final design. The unique architectural design has been said to have an appearance similar to either a durian (a tropical fruit) or the eyes of a fly. Many Singaporeans casually refer to the Esplanade as "The Durian".

2015 CHALLENGE, WEEK 22: NUMBERS – GEOMETRY
I needed to get out and do a little photowalk today. Good therapy. I wandered around the Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum. It's a small venue, with just one engine, car, and caboose. I took a few photos, thinking they'd be great for the geometry theme. Most of them would work just fine. But, across the street I saw this abandoned building and was enticed.
I really think the entire street-side wall is loaded with a variety of geometrical designs and even construction principles, it's like the designer/contractor/architect didn't follow one structural design rule on any one panel of this wall. I'll toss in a couple other shots from the photowalk at the end of the post.
