This is one of the sunrise images I captured yesterday (Thursday). Although the other images included a sun pillar, I decided to post them another day and let this one stand on its own due to its rather unique and abstract quality.

Enjoy your day and thanks for dropping by.

I love yellow! It’s one of my favorite colors, and my house is full of it. I even have a yellow room. But it took me all week to decide what to do for this theme! Too many choices, I guess.

Squares, oblongs and triangles .....A net curtain is a semi-transparent curtain made of a fine fabric with a very open weave, typically fixed across a window for privacy.
Every year, during the Easter break, my son and granddaughter head off on their trip. And every year, when they return home, the same familiar chocolate appears in their luggage. A small tradition, but one that now tastes as sweet as the homecoming itself.

Happy Macro Monday and Happy New Year to all!
For this week's theme I used a small (2" x 2" x 2") glass pyramid mounted on top of a piece of black perspex (plexiglass) illuminated only with natural window light. A focus stack of 15 images processed in the magnificent Helicon Focus using Option C. Significant dust-spot removal (from the plexiglass) in Photoshop. Black and white conversion in Silver Efex Pro. Sharpening and other small, global tweaks in Lightroom.
A silent winter night settles over Hjerdalen near Rjukan in Telemark, where snow-covered cabins lie hidden beneath a monochrome wilderness. Captured from above with a drone, the landscape transforms into an abstract composition of shadows, textures, and untouched snowfields. The winding tracks between the buildings become the only signs of life in an otherwise frozen stillness.
Fun fact: Rjukan is famous for its dramatic winter darkness, caused by the surrounding mountains blocking sunlight for large parts of the year — which eventually led to the installation of giant mirrors reflecting sunlight down into the town square.

going to school again , I have to do some assignements , but I can't resist to add something extra, new i was going to the Museum M in leuven to take pictures of geometric shapes, but when I got there I saw the white ceiling and the blue sky and saw my Icelandic arctic tern in it trying to attack me
I was drawn to the elegant simplicity of the Sémaphore de Mésange rising into this dreamy pastel sky. There's something deeply calming about this maritime sentinel standing alone against the soft gradient of colors that painted the evening horizon.
I chose a minimalist approach to capture the essence of this coastal landmark - isolating the semaphore tower against the vast expanse of sky to emphasize its solitary role as a guardian of navigation. The clean lines of the white tower contrasted beautifully with the geometric glass structure at its summit, creating a composition that feels both functional and sculptural.
What captivated me most was this incredible palette of soft blues melting into warm peach tones - the kind of light that only happens during those magical moments when day transitions to evening. The absence of visual clutter allowed the tower's architectural character to shine while creating a sense of peaceful contemplation.
My intention was to show how these utilitarian structures can become objects of beauty when isolated and framed by nature's own artistry. This semaphore has guided countless vessels safely to harbor, and I wanted to capture that quiet dignity and timeless purpose.
