Smile on Saturday theme Reflections in a Knife
Phew! Just about made it into the group! The run up to Christmas is so manic, I'm so grateful to have my photography to break away from it all.
Happy Smile on Saturday! 😄
The Portuguese tradition of decorating houses and businesses with colorful tile goes back centuries. Wandering streets and alleys, you’ll see an endless variety of designs. Most are fairly traditional, but some venture off into the aesthetics of their time, like this pop art variety in olive.

Sunny parasol. Its own reflections in the balconys makes the circle almost complete.

This originally shot was a clump of stalks from bulrushes which I took during a recent visit to the Wetland and Wildfowl Cente in Llanelli. Not many wildfowl around so I looked for some "arty" shots. After loads of editing this is the final result for Sliders Sunday! I just like the geometric shapes from the stalks and their reflection in the water. HSS!

Skyscrapers of banks and accountancy firms, near a rail hub.
An elegantly designed and highly contemporary factory office building entrance stands proudly under an almost perfectly clear blue sky.
The architecture of this workplace features sleek lines and modern materials, while the large windows of its facade are accompanied by neatly trimmed greenery and vibrant bushes. The early spring midday sunlight (late March) accentuates the colours of the plants, creating a lively contrast and adding sophistication.
I liked the confident interplay of grey render, warm terracotta cladding and the deep blue sky. The cypress trees, the dramatic cantilevered entrance canopy, and those two punctuating red elements gave this photograph extra personality, i.m.h.o.
CORBU: Le Corbusier, whose influence is written all over this picture: the flat roof, the horizontal strip windows, the bold geometric volumes and the pilotis-like canopy.
the architecture is strict, the rhythm relentless. every beam, every panel, every fluorescent light – all pulling forward, forward, forward. he doesn’t fight it. he rolls along with his suitcase, eyes ahead, steps measured, mind elsewhere. this isn’t travel. this is routine wrapped in glass and symmetry. a visual echo of movement without meaning. the modern ritual of departure.
Macro Mondays 'redux 2021' theme.
These gorgeous little earrings are a Christmas gift. Known as 'angel calling bells' or 'harmony bells', each earring has a tiny bell inside which tinkles softly when moved.
This year the redux theme require us to visit more than one theme. I began by thinking of 'gift' (Jan 4th) and 'bells' (March 15th) and 'orange' (May 31st) for the background, but then realised it also fits for 'pair' (April 12th) and 'geometric shapes' (Sept 20th).

“Keep exploring. Keep dreaming. Keep asking why. Don’t settle for what you already know. Never stop believing in the power of your ideas, your imagination, your hard work to change the world.”

Escalator in the Queen Victoria Building, Sydney. I loved this place.
Also for Window Wednesday - shop windows in there. HWW

Geometry shapes in ice.
This part in the ice is about 7 cm wide.
Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. I really appreciate.
West of Brighton centre, with a view of the ruins of West Pier | Seen here in the early 2000s, only a few years after the fire of autumn 2000.
On an overcast morning, a sports court awaits its next fixture and player interaction. Its semi-faded markings and weary beige walls await some basketball or handball action to liven up this play area!
A spiral staircase on the exterior wall of a hotel, featuring vertical railings and set against a clear light blue sky at dusk. I liked how the geometry of this picture gave the look of an abstract pattern.
