This image was inspired by Macro Mondays' group theme of "Geometric Shapes" for this week...

The shape, of course, is the rectangular monolith, and the circular starlight bokeh. Of course, the movie never showed the cavemen or astronauts licking the monolith to find out whether it was chocolate or not..!

UPDATE: This should definitely fit in the Our Daily Topic of "Food" for Aug 19-25, 2013. Who said you shouldn't play with your food?

I have been saying it for years and I have finally taken the step back to water colour painting. Took me a while to find an instructor I could relate to - not as easy as it sounds, but I am so glad I have found her. It's a small class for now which suits me just fine.

This is the first exercise in shapes, shading and perspective.

Never thought either, that I would be occupied with primary building blocks again after spending most of my teaching years with little 4 and 5 year olds.
