As a result, this year, GSCASH orientation programmes are being conducted in various schools (especially for nevv students) on 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 241h ofAugust 2012 as notified throuqh detailed posters. · -JI'JUSU has a~ways maintained that ensuring gender sensitivity cannot and should not be the sole responsibility ofsome individuals or groups-institutional efforts have to be taken to ensrJre that students uphold the gender-sensitive nature ofthe campus. Therefore, JNUSU had demanded that the JNU administration take the responsibility ofinforming newstudents aboutthe issues pert-aining to gender-based and sexual harassment and the role and function of GSCASH. Moreover, .
this year, following JNUSU's intervention, new students have been given a copy of sections from the GSCASH bocklet, which describes the role and function of GSCASH. We appe~l to the student community to participate in large numbers in the orientation progra.mmes as per the-notified schedule for their respective schools. These programmes will beaddressed by some ofJNUs faculty members and other resource persons who have a long experience ofworking on issues ofgender, harassment and sensitivity in workplaces. The-entire student community together has to ensure that JNU's gendersensitive ethos is preserved. .

On June 26, 2024, in Tartous, gender-sensitive technical and managerial training was provided to potential community organizations. The training aimed to identify strengths, weaknesses, and existing needs to design an institutional strengthening plan.
This activity is part of the Community Engagement Strengthening (CES) initiative, which seeks to increase public participation in civil society, enhance collective action, and promote values-based community building through support for civil society organizations (CSOs). It falls within the Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) process, focusing on five key capacity areas: systems, activities, relationships, adaptability, and culture. CES is funded and implemented by the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF).

The Chairperson.
GSCASH,.
.
JNU .
13.4.09.
Dear Madam, .
This is to express our deep concern and anguish at the attempts ofa particular organization tocast aspersions on GSCASH. its proceedings, and rules and procedures through a leaflet and.
subsequent poster dated (9.4.09) with regard to a particular case. A copy of the leaflet is.
attached. .
The rules and procedures of GSCASH and the rights it gives its members to conduct theproceedings and express opinions cannot be made subject to a politically motivated slangingexercise as has been done in this particular leaflet. In the interest of fairness of justice, sanctity n1ust be accorded to the decisions of GSCASH, with all the attendant provisions of.
rules and procedures per1aining to dissent, appeal and redressal by all parties. including thosein GSCASH. .
GSCASH deals with sensitive matters which demands highest concern for ethics, gendersensitivity as well as confidentiality of various parties concerned, not just about theindividuals involved in the case but also about proceedings. We fail to understand how thisparticular organization had the privilege to pronounce statements about the proceedings of aGSCASH meeting. and how it could exercise the liberty to impute partisan motives onGSCASH by stating distor1ed and even false al legations about our stances during theproceedings of a meeting (which were well within the provisions of GSCASH). Such publiccalumny goes against the legitimate rights of members of the GSCASH to express theiropinions during the process of an enquiry. Such organizationally motivated aspersions arebound to.undermine the scope and freedom ofGSCASH not just in this particular case, but in.
any enqmry. _ .
No free and fair enquiry can proceed ifchecks and balances, questions and counter questions, facts and counter facts are not entertained. To subject this due process of any meeting to apublic calumny campaign, imputing only organizational motives. makes any proceedings of.
GSCASH unviable and impossible. .
We reiterate our commitment to the institution of GSCASH. and its rules and procedures,.
which are absolutely essential for its fai r functioning. We also appeal through GSCASH to.
various organizations to behave in a mature and responsible manner in the interest ofsanctity.
.
ofall the rules and procedures that arc sacrosanct for fair and just functioning ofGSCASH. .
Thanking you, .
