This picture was taken in Dungeness, which is a place you can't really explain until you have been there!
Dungeness is full of nothing .... yet so much! It is the most barron beach I have ever been to, but hidden amongst the beach are so many abandoned items. Most people would call it junk, but when you come across boats like this, next to the old tracks that have not been used for years, you can really feel and imagine how 'alive' this place would have been back when it was full of fishermen. I would recommend a trip to Dungeness to anyone, but don't judge a book by it's cover .... read into it and you will find gems like this!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting, this picture was my 1st picture to get on explore! :)
I don't think I've grown up at all within..I love colourful, sparkly shiny little things... Board pins and gem clips are my all time favourites
I keep on fear, keep on loathing
Nothing brings it on I keep on falling
Decide what it is I can not find
It's subsides what you make it
Never feel like you're gonna break it
It's gonna be alright alright
Sleep until the morning comes
The sun will warm your soul
Sleep until the morning comes for you
Til the morning
it's alright
I can walk into the sunlight, into the day,
I feel it falling, nothing comes to my mind
Bring it on in a different tide
I feel alright, alright
I feel strong, i feel rigid
It's nothing to do with the vision
Oh feels so right, so right
Sleep on tight, sleep on tight
Sleep until the sunlight
Sleep on tight, til the sunlight burns you happy
Til the sunlight burns you happy, till the sunlight burns a happy whole in
Your heart,
In your heart
In your heart...

Every once in a while one of those cars you rarely, or never in this case, see in your area comes out and this was one of those times.

For Retread Thursday I revisited a picture I took waaay back in my first few weeks on Flickr when my first DSLR was new. Original: www.flickr.com/photos/pamelalong/529676462/?reuploaded=1

Northwestern Elevated Railroad car 24 makes it's public debut at the Illinois Railway Museum after it's restoration. Still small details to be done, i.e. trolley beams and lettering to be applied and other details. Car was restored by member Tim Peters who worked for about 4 years on the restoration which back dated the car to about 1913. The car was built by Pullman in 1898 and retired from work service by CTA in 1958 and donated to the museum. It ran under it's own power over the North Shore Line directly to museum when it was located at North Chicago.
During the summer we spent some time in Rocky Mountain National Park. I hadn't been there in almost 20 years. It was such a joy to be there, seeing these places I had been dreaming about since I was in college. The place had such a huge impact on me emotionally. I just kept catching my breath again and again.
On this particular day we had originally planned to go to one of the more popular locations in the park, but when we reached the trail head it was overrun with people. Not really the experience I was hoping for nor the one I was trying to show my family. We ended up changing our plans and hiking in a different area, called Lumpy Ridge, that I hadn't spent much time in before. The hike up to this alpine lake was gorgeous. The sky was clear with these really dramatic clouds in all directions. Gem Lake itself was a treat, but the trail up there made the lake that much more worth it.

There was an Isambard Kingdom Brunel railway bridge across the River Walkham at this point, but it was demolished in the 1960's shortly after the railway line closed.
This replacement bridge was constructed in 2012 with the aid of an EU grant.
The two halves of what has now become a cycle track are thus connected together. The bridge is for cyclists and pedestrians, and enables commuters from the town of Tavistock to reach Plymouth easily. This reduces the road traffic somewhat.
It is 24m above the river and 200m long.
This day was a gem, just like these bracelets tied to a tree.
It's always worth it to stray from the given path.
some slides i found from late 50s/early 60`s of gems (???)
never thought of it before but it seems like a nice hobby
These unplanned spots are worth to explore and photograph. They are literally gems enroute. We are travelling to Madyan from Jebel Al Lawz (which was closed for tourists and we could only make as near as 10KMs to it) and I am being dropped from the car for a solo exploration. My friends are at the gas station and look what I found. There are so many places on the earth which deserve a name really.

I think I will name her Opal Divine. That is the name of my favorite tavern. They serve a luscious "pecan porter". The porter is one of several products of a microbrewery in Austin Texas. It never travels far from the vat to the tap.
A different view than my usual Gem Valley shot. Deep snow forced me to change routes today
