GEM electric vehicle dressed as a police car in San Miguel de Allende. I don't think it is actually currently functioning as a police car.
I've always thought a factory junk yard is a gold mine for me & I sometimes find real gold gems there(^_^;). This is one of them.
The workers in this factory are very kind & always let me take some of these metal shavings. So I could "stage" & take this pic at home(^_^)v.
Btw, it's not really gold. It's just gold colored metal(^_^;) .
I don't see the Gemmed Satyr often perhaps because they live deep in the woods. When I spotted this one it moved into a patch of thorny bushes. I gradually worked my way into the thicket to get this shot.
Sonnet to Gemmed Satyr
Deep in the dark green forest I reside.
From leaf to stem I will flutter then hide.
For though my scales are brown and plainly laid.
Upon my wing a precious gem's displayed.
Though my nature is most virtuous and staid.
I can not moult that pretty bold brocade.
Tis bright and white like Venus in the sky!
Its blue and black dimensions please the eye.
Like a vane this gem doth point and pull and guide.
Tis vanity that would span the bridge of sighs.
Sooner than be seen by those who'd eat me!
I'll hide in this forest most discreetly.
Rather than be gleaned by those who'd slight me.
I'll hide and wear this gem that most delights me.

I have driven by Meadow Fork Falls many times and didn't even know. I really enjoyed shooting this less popular waterfall and it was definitely worth the short off trail hike.

I found this little gem of a spot last night scouting out locations to shoot streams or cascades against a backdrop of stars. Well, it won't work for the stars, but it certainly is a beauty of a spot all on its own. The best part for me is the proximity to my house. It's about 5 minutes from my house! I can't wait to explore this area some more in the spring or fall when the waters will be flowing with more force.

Came across this old man selling gems on the street. Simple set-up, a folding plastic table, a table cloth and you're up. Those white gems actually came from the heartwood of that stump there in the middle. He cuts them up and polished it into that shape. It's very common for malay men to buy the stone/gem separately and the binding them on silver rings. Those gems in the special little boxes have "stories" with them, and the price can hit up to USD30~70 per piece.
Another result from my initial attempts to deconstruct a horse. I did not find everything I expected and found some things that I had not expected, which is more or less how I prefer things to go.

This building was built in 1953. The Gem Beverages company makes a brand of soda called Ski. The company appears to have been in this town since the building was built.
