Construction carries on beyond the gated shadowed residential courtyard in Royal Arsenal Woolwich SE18.

I have been trying to get to this lighthouse for some time now.

A few years ago, I was there and it started to rain, so I passed. On Thursday this week I was there and even though it looked like rain, I went in anyway.

This is in behind a gated community and you need to get permission to get to the lighthouse. It is a lovely sight. Totally restored by Fort Erie. They do offer tours on certain weekends but I was more interested in the photos.

I shot this in HDR as I thought it would be best presented this way. The Buffalo skyline is very visible across the lake to the left of the lighthouse (not visible here). I added this to the map for anyone who might want to visit.

Happy Saturday

I took a walk around the neighborhood to see if there things that I had missed recently. Sometimes, I get too set in my ways that I miss some obvious photographic opportunities !

Here is some wildlife that I often miss because I'm too much in a hurry that I miss the Trees in the Forest.

So much for philosophy ! I'm certainly not a philosopher !

Here's a lone Bird searching for it's Breakfast near one of the many Retention Ponds that Florida is known for !

With three Bird Books, I still cannot positively identify this Bird !

I think it might br either a Heron or a Egret, however someone else commented that it was a Limpkin. I'm Confused !

The consensuses, is that the Bird is a Limpkin !

Both Gerald Wayne Prout and Buckeye have identified the Bird as a Limpkin !

A gated community famous, or recently infamous, for illegal excavation of foundations to these very expensive houses, mostly to make room for swimming pools, basements, wine cellars etc. Some excavations have led to landslides in last year’s heavy downpours. Fortunately no one was killed. What remedial measures will be taken appear unclear. Signs of landslide very clear to the right of the photo.

Ely Place is an exclusive gated community of multi-story terraces in Holborn, London .It stands on land that had been the site of Ely Palace or Ely House, the London townhouse of the Bishops of Ely from 1290 to 1772.

The Burnt Store Marina community is unlike any other in Charlotte County and perhaps all of Florida. It is a fully gated community with a golf course, restaurant, over 500 rentable boat slips (for almost all boat sizes) and dry dock storage. Residents traveling in golf carts, dolphins and beautiful sunsets are daily sights at the marina.

The Marina is located on the Charlotte and Lee County line and it is best accessed by boat or road. There has been considerable recent commercial and residential development in and especially around the marina. The marina access is highly sought by boaters because it is located in protected Charlotte Harbor but is also close to the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico and the Peace and Caloosahatchee Rivers.

North Beverly Park, with a main entrance at 13100 Mulholland Drive, is the larger 64-home section. South Beverly Park consists of 16 homes. Property covenants require that homes in Beverly Park be at least 5,000 square feet.

Beverly Park is the highest-earning neighborhood in Los Angeles, with a mean household income of $502,440.

It seems sort of cheeky to me, but I suppose that if I could buy a million dollar home in the hills of Sedona, AZ, I would probably want to keep the riff-raff out with a gate too.

There was no enhancement of this photo. The golden glow of the sunset did the work for me.

Yesterday, I Crossed the street behind the Gated Community, where I live in Pinellas County and discovered an Alligator laying on the Grass next to the Retention Ponds, which are used fro Drainage in Florida. Since I was carrying my Camera hoping to Photograph some Birds, I decided to take some Photographs of the Alligator even though the lighting was poor. The Gator was approximately Four Feet Long.

I used a Zoom Lens and about 50 Feet away, and I had my Escape Route Planned, so I was in No Danger !

Disclaimer: The Lighting was extremely poor near dusk and although I too about a Dozen Photographs at a range of F-Stops and Shutter Speeds, none of the exposures were

We live in an Subdivision, in an Unincorporated Area, which uses the Palm Harbor Post Office. We live much, much closer to the Town of Oldsmar and the Oldsmar Post Office that to Palm Harbor and the Palm Harbor Post Office which is many miles to the West of our community..

"I was watching TV this morning, when my wife alerted me to this Great Blue Heron with a Fish in it's Mouth in the backyard between our Lanai and the Retention Pond. Usually, when I see a Large Bird in our backyard, by the time I go get my camera, whatever it was is long gone. Not this time, the Heron was holding the bird up and dropping it about twenty or thirty times while I was trying to Photograph it trying to stay out of sight. But the Bird was aware of my presence (as much as I tried to hide) and several times it picked up the fish and flew around to to a more distant part of the pond.

The Great Blue Heron is in the Scientific Family Ardeidae & the Scientific name is Ardea herodias.

I tried to sneak up on the bird several times at several spots along the pond trying to hide behind the Oak trees, taking hand held Photographs. Unfortunately, I didn't have my Telephoto Lens attached and my hands were very shaky. Although I took about thirty shots, these are the Best Photographs that I was able to take. I need to purchase a Blind to get ready for my next opportunity. I'm not sure what type of fish it was, but it had whiskers, but didn't look like a Cat Fish to me.

I attended the "Antique Flywheel Engine & Tractor Show" sponsored by the "Florida Flywheeler's Antique Engine Club" located at 7000 Avon Park Cutoff Road, Fort Mead, FL 33841 on Friday February 21, 2020.

These two Photographs show two different Dump Trucks passing by Chatam Landing, a Gated Community within the Master Community that comprises Ridgemoor. One of the Subdivisions further north within Ridgemoor was having it's roadway repaved and these and many other Dump Trucks were delivering Asphalt and removing debris such as chunks old old broken pavement.

I took this Photo with my Canon 40D Digital SLR Camera in the Ridgemoor Subdivision of the Unincorporated Area, commonly called East Lake because it is located on the East Side of Lake Tarpon. The photo illustrates one of the East Lake Fire Chief's SUV.

There are three Fire Houses within the East Lake Area and the area is called (Unincorporated) Palm Harbor by the US Postal Service.

Downtown Palm Harbor, where the Post Office is located, is on the West Side of Lake Tarpon, several Miles West of East Lake, which is on the East Side of Lake Tarpon..

Marg and I decided to drop in on Scottsdale and spend a few days watching the SF Giants play a little spring baseball. Politely expressed, Scottsdale is a land of many worlds made up of major league baseball teams, golf courses, glitzy chic malls, gazillions of retirement communities based on movie themes, an endless army of conventioneers continually loading up their plates in hotel buffet lines, plastic surgeons galore, and lots of old dudes with hairy chests sporting sparkling gold chains--did I mention traffic. It often seems like a place that is not quite real, yet it has a distinct hyper reality about it that boggles the mind like one of those troubling dreams that you only vaguely remember and haunts you for weeks. So, if you love golf carts and want to spend your golden years in a perfectly landscaped, fenced, and gated retirement community then take your sticky beak to Scottsdale and have a poke around. Here's looking at you kid.

Happy Fenced and Gated Community Friday (HFGCF) everyone.

This Photograph shows two Landscaping Trucks passing near Chatam Landing, a Gated Community within the Master Community that comprises Ridgemoor. The Red Truck is just turning out of Wellington Drive (which is directly across from Greyston Street) onto Northbound Ridgemoor Drive.

The Red Truck has an Opened Trailer attached, with a Tractor Inside. Also the Red Truck is a Cab Over Engine (aka: COE) Truck.

Also, one of the Subdivisions further north within Ridgemoor was having it's roadway repaved and there were also many Dump Trucks delivering Asphalt and removing debris such as chunks old old broken pavement.

They were doing some construction in the East Lake Area in May and as a consequence there were numerous Dump Trucks going back & forth along Ridgemoor Road in Pinellas County, Florida.
