We pretty much gatecrashed this thing at half one in the morning, but the people were lovely and plied us with excellent potato salad.
Also: I think the house is a converted old railway station. But I was pretty drunk, so maybe it's not.

After visiting the stilt village, and with our legs still sore from the mountain, it was time for a jarring and hilarious moment of pure decadence. After our taxi driver dropped us out the front, claiming that it had the best beach in the area, Adrienne and I sauntered confidently into the 5-star Rasa Ria Resort near Tuaran, a short drive from Kota Kinabalu. While I nodded politely to the staff and actual paying guests, Adrienne snagged two of their complimentary towels and we hit the resort's private beach. After our dip, I asked one of the other guests to take a photo of us in front of the swanky pool.
Gatecrashing expensive hotels actually became something of a theme for Adrienne and I. I have several photos of us taken by staff in the lobby of the Kota Kinabalu Meridien (their toilets are highly recommended), and another one at the Jesselton Hotel, posing next to a doorman wearing ridiculous, embarassing and highly politically incorrect colonial garb.
30/05/2022, during the 1,000 km drive from Koper, Slovenia, to Detmold, Germany, I drove off the motorway in search of a coffee.
In the little town of Pfarrwerfen, Austria, I found the delightful Hasselwanter bakery and cafe.
The only other customers were a group of distinguished locals, most wearing the traditional 'Tracht' (Austrian costume), and having a beer.
We fell into conversation and they announced they were holding a wake, following the death, and funeral (that afternoon) of a friend.
Despite wanting to get back to the drive, I spent a pleasant hour or so with them, putting the world to rights.

This day, the big day for Steven & Irene. We were at Irene's place as early as 0530hrs and i will tell you the morning was really exciting with irene smiling and relaxing in the entire morning! Never fail to smile when the camera is pointing at her!
Not forgetting the sumptuous spread of breakfast that were prepared with lots of love! Kuehs, cakes and puffs and toasts made a perfect start to the morning.
I must applaud Steven for taking some time to dress up himself and his brotherhood! Dressed as Elvis and Rock Band certainly made the morning photo shoot the most exciting shoot ever! Beside the dressing, everyone played their part to make the gate crashing an enjoyable part! The sisters were all out to test Steven's sincerity with challenges such as handsomely spread Wasabi-flavoured bread, doing sit-ups with an inflated balloons on their tummy and singing out loud at the void deck.
Well. That of cause does not dampen the spirits of the brotherhood and they over-comed it with ease! (and of cause with a price. *wink* )
In the eyes of Steven, he must have felt all these are worth for this moment!
