Here's one panel from the "Gate of Prophecy:" a large door inside the Syrian Monastery that includes symbolic diagrams depicting the past and the future of the Christian faith through the eyes of Christian monks of the tenth century.

Early 14th century, restored early 19th century.
One of the grand imperial gates of Dolmabahçe Palace. Built in the 19th century under Sultan Abdülmecid, it reflects Western-influenced Ottoman architecture, with intricate stonework overlooking the Bosphorus.
For the purpose of testing the success of the mechanism, I went with a rainbow of parts (whatever I could find)- a less colorful version will soon be the replacement, with the two pillars in favor of simple grays and black.
Kathy and I went bicycling in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and had a wonderful time, though our old bones where sore by the time we were done.
I was out today taking pictures with my new lens. I could take real close pictues while standing far away and I was stunned by the beauty of the place where I live. Sadly enough I didn't have the right camera adjustments, so not all the pictures turned out so well. this is one of the best.

Above the various entrance to the markets, on Angel Street, Castle Street and Castle Garden.
Description:
Each panel shows a building from Sheffield’s past, that was located in the area of the market.
Commission:
Sheffield City Council and the Market Traders.
Comment:
Woodall was originally commissioned to initiate a more comprehensive project, but the money was unfortunately spent in the design and manufacture of the archways over the entrance to the market area and the entrance to Angel Street from Fitzalan Square.

Castle Gate
Castlegate is one of eleven Quarters in Sheffield's City Centre. It is now bound by Commercial Street and part of the High Street to the south, Exchange Place to the east, the road named Castlegate to the north, Angel Street and Snig Hill to the west. Castlegate is the main thoroughfare to and from the North of Sheffield as it links Park Square to The Wicker, although it is intended that the Sheffield Northern Relief Road will take this traffic when completed, allowing Exchange Place, Castlegate and The Wicker to be downgraded. Castlegate, built along a portion of the River Don, was the old location of the slaughter houses. It also served as a back entrance to the Alexandra Opera House as well as the market quarter situated on the site of the former castle of Sheffield, hence the name of the street and quarter.
Just the main gate for my next castle, again, this is not where the gate will be in the finished version.
The words on the sign do not match the padlock and chain on the gate, sadly it seems to be because of drug users.
The Tiananmen, or the Gate of Heaven-Sent Pacification, is a monumental gate in the city center of Beijing, China, the front gate of the Imperial City of Beijing, located near the city's Central Business District, and widely used as a national symbol. First built during the Ming dynasty in 1420, Tiananmen was the entrance to the Imperial City, within which the Forbidden City was located. Tiananmen is located to the north end of Tiananmen Square.
