July 15, 2017: Gus, Brooklyn

FINALLY, after three weeks on his own, Gus was adopted today to a nice lady from Sierra Vista.

These Kunekune seem to live for a good rub behind the ears. They have fun hanging out with each other and are friendly company for the other animals on the farm. Shot was taken with the Aukey 2 in 1 Wide Angle/Macro lens attached to my iPhone.

A cat to keep you company, while I'm in Leeds.....

This is our Gus! He's a dapple long-haired dachshund with beautiful big blue eyes!

I finally got the Funko Glass Slipper through Amazon today, and I am super happy with it. It is beautiful an adorable all at the same time. XD

And a fantastic feature is that Gus Gus is held in by 2 pegs, and is easy to pop in and out. :)

Eric's friend Jody has a cute little puppy named Gus who likes to sit between people's feet.

He was sooooo cute that Eric didn't want to say good bye to him.

the one and only Gus Powell will run a Weekly Street Photography workshop at Los Angeles Center of Photography

February 12-16, 2018

Gus Powell will share why he loves pointing a loaded camera at people he doesn’t know, and how to find inspiration in unexpected places. Topics include: ambiguity & poetic truth, a sense of place, a sense of humor, the “decisive moment“, the “un-decisive moment”, optimism & pessimism, when your protagonist isn’t a person, pictures that are nouns & pictures that are verbs, memory, embracing language, when to move in, when to move out, when to get a coffee.

Gus has been pondering as why all the Meteorologist's predicted such a extreme winter. Gonna have to renew that Jenny Craig membership if this continues.

He is sooooo damn photogenic and turning into one of my favorite clients to photograph. Used my Paint by Numbers texture (gaussian blurred 10.6%) for the background.

EXPLORE #221

Gus is pretty happy to find that the cabin we stayed in last weekend had his name on it!

My sweet boy, Gus.

I am still trying to get him used to the camera. It is a challenge.

Gus and Phoebe curled up on the fleece blanket in my room (what is it about cats and fleece?).

We made a trek to the Toronto Zoo over the weekend and this Great Horned Owl caught my attention. He was perched on the other side of a wire enclosure and with no escape, seemed to be trying hard to ignore all the commotion around him. It was, wear a Halloween costume and get in free day for the kids - so it was busy and noisy. Looking like a Grumpy Gus, he didn't look too impressed with me either as I tried to blur out the wire with a shallow depth of field.

With his squirrel toy....

A long-awaited meeting between Gus and one of his greatest admirers, Draco (Karen). Gus was distracted by a pointer dog, and has here gone into his best sheepdog rounding up mode.

Enlarged, there is more detail in Gus's face than you'd think

I don't normally upload multiple images in one night of shots from the same day, but I couldn't help but edit and get this one up. I really love the soft tones of the background, it has that painted feel. This is a shot of the company dog, Gus, he's such a charmer!

On a side note it was a fabulous day to be taking photos so I am very glad I went out and actually took some.
