Glass-blowing lesson. I love to watch glass-making. It is such an industrial process, with the furnace and tools similar to smithing, but the results are so intricate and fragile.

SELF-GUIDED THROUGH THIS AREA
Because I LOVE exploring I continued on my own to another area of the cave system. In this area photos were allowed, but of course to fully appreciated its beauty you have to see the Skocjan Caves in person --- my photos don't do it justice.
was using waterproof camera --- saw time/date stamp and ignored it --- well, that was stupid!!!
time/date stamped does NOT correspond with time photo was taken --- was able to change to correct time on Flickr site

We had a guided tour at Bodegas Bilbainas in Haro, Spain, which ended with the usual wine tasting.
This vineyard is unique with having a railway station nearby, plus other vineyards in the area.
Founded in 1901 in Haro's iconic Station Quarter, Bodegas Bilbaínas is the longest-standing bottling winery in Rioja. Viña Pomal is the winery's most iconic brand and its first vintage was released in 1904, the starting point on its journey to becoming a classic.
You can visit their hundred-year old winery with historic buildings and one of the largest underground cellars in La Rioja (3,400m²), built at the end of the 19th century.
It also has the most extensive underground cellars in the region and a greater area of vineyards than any other winery in Haro. In total it owns 250 hectares of high quality vines, which supply the winery with its own grapes, ensuring that they can be processed quickly without losing their qualities. Bodegas Bilbaínas defines itself as a classically styled winery, making Reservas and Gran Reservas, and a good example of this is its flagship brand, Viña Pomal, followed by its other iconic brands: La Vicalanda and Ederra. In addition, the winery has a close relationship with quality sparkling wines that goes back to its origins at the start of the 20th Century, with brands that include Royal Carlton and Lumen.
Views of Haro Station from the vineyard, before we headed inside on the tour.
Haro also has a railway station, which is located on one of the most important railway axes, the Bilbao-Zaragoza-Barcelona line.
The train station is located in the Bodegas de Haro neighbourhood. Long and medium distance services operated by Renfe run through it, with the main destinations being Miranda de Ebro in 17 minutes, Logroño in 40 minutes, Barcelona in 4 hours and 58 minutes, Zaragoza in two hours and 39 minutes, Bilbao in one hour and 54 minutes and Valladolid in two hours and 24 minutes.
Saw a freight train as the tour began outside.
On Thursday we had breakfast at our motel in Montreal. Then we drove to Dorchester Square (getting lost first) to meet our tour guide. She took us first to the restroom in the Tourist Information Center. It was drizzling rain as we toured Montreal. We walked through the rain to see the inside of Notre Dame. We continued our bus tour. She left us at the square to go to the Underground City at Simon's store. We ate lunch in the food court and shopped in the stores. A friend and I walked down the street and toured the inside of the Cathedral (Marie du Monde). We drove over to the casino on the island but decided not to stay. We drove back to our motel. Some people stayed for the evening. Others rode to a mall across the street for supper and for shopping.
A close-up of our tympan guides, made from cut-up x-ray. The tape is applied vertically so that the tag can hold the paper straight across without the paper slipping into the sides of the guide.
