A group of rail worker's walk along the platform as Class 40 40128 creep's up to the signal's as it slowley run's through the station with a mixed train another railway worker can be seen crossing the track behind the train not a high vis jacket in sight { well it was 1976.] Guide Bridge 27/07/1976. 40003/14/113/127/175/177. were also seen here.

As we navigate through Cienfuegos Bay in a small boat, our helmsman maintains a steady course towards our lunch appointment.
The sweeping lines guided me to take this photo. I really liked how the lakefront walkway pulls the eye far into this scene, along with the beachfront running pararalel. The clouds moving overhead also formed a line that swept the same direction, so you really get the feeling of moving from left to right, which is where he city skyline really anchors the photo. The lighthouse was really cool, and looked interesting against the backdrop of the city, as if it was built in with it. It sort of implies how Chicago wouldn't be what it is today without the Great Lakes and her lighthouses, which have kept many sailors safe. The graffiti was also interesting, and if you read closely it says Chicago on the right side. Overall, a pretty cool scenic of Chi!

Beautiful Ancient Town--Fenghuang
Besides the Fenghuang Ancient Town, Fenghuang County is also famous for its Huangsiqiao Ancient Town, its Ancient Great Wall in the South, and its Qiliang Cave. Tourists can take a bus from the County Long-Distance Bus Station to all these scenic spots. The bus ticket is priced at three yuan.
Fenghuang County is a place inhabited by national minorities such as the Miao and Tujian, so it features strong ethnic charm. Tourists can enjoy the Miao customs by visiting the Shanjiang Miao Village. If you are lucky, you may have a chance to experience the Miao's local fair in Alaying.
How to get there
(1) Travelers arrive first in Jishou, Hunan, by train, and then go to Fenghuang by bus.
(2) Travelers can also travel by air to the Daxing Airport in Tongren, Guizhou, and then go to Fenghuang by bus.
Stay in Fenghuang
Tourists are recommended to stay in the houses on stilts along the riverside. A night stay costs 20 to 30 yuan per person. The hotel Home on the Tuojiang River is the best choice. If you mention China Pictorial, maybe the hotelkeeper will take you on a boat ride to appreciate the moon. Bao can entertain you by singing folk songs.
Fenghuang local snacks
Fenghuang has many local snacks, of which the sugarcoated ginger is a must for tourists. There is a snack store beside Shen Congwen's former residence. The sugarcoated ginger this store offers is the best of its kind, so it is sold at a higher price. Another local delicacy is meat fried with mushrooms.

Today, I attended a tour through The Hague, visiting several places where the Dutch author Louis Couperus (1863 - 1923) lived or situated his novels.
The guide, portrayed here next to the statue of Couperus, was very enthusiastic and told many anecdotes about the author, making it a very interesting tour.

School starts next week and I haven't finished my summer assignments :/
I got super tan/burned at band camp, now my nose is starting to peel making it bright pink. I hate it when that happens.
I'm going through a episode where I have to put space stuff in my photos. I wonder how long it will last until I realize how overused it is.
I had to photoshop out a road, parking lot, and bathroom out of this photo. It was hard and still looks odd to me.
This was taken outside St. Cyriac's Church, Lacock. I was patiently waiting for the crowds to disperse whereas this tour guide was impatiently waiting for his tourist group to catch up

One of the many 'official guides' or 'handbooks' issued under the auspices of almost every UK local authority duringt he Twentieth Century and that included details of local administration, services, amenities and industries for both residents, visitors and prospective residents and investors. It is fair to say that this splendidly honest cover, showing the two main industries of the Yorkshire UDC of Rawmarsh, was not particularly aimed at holidaymakers!
The town, adjacent to the River Don, and situated close to Rotherham, into which borough it was amalgamated in the 1974 local government reorganisation, and was unashamedly built on coal, steel and chemicals. The major employer was the large Park Gate Iron & Steel Company, whose many products included colliery roof supports - important to the other major extractive industry. The works would continue to expand during the mid-20th Century with the development of the adjacent Aldwarke site. Another major steel company was that of Wm. Oxley of the Park Gate Steel Works.
The guide includes some photos of the town that show the trolleybus overhead of the rather unusual local undertaking the Mexborough & Swinton Traction Company (they had abandoned the word Tramways in the title when they converted the system in c1927) and the wholly single deck fleet continued in operation until 1961 when motor buses were substituted. It was the first and last private company to operate trolleybuses in the UK.
The cover is remarkably bold - the iron & steel works in the background, the colliery and colliers in the forground and even the telephone wires and gas lamps are silhouetted!
I always enjoyed photographing at Guide Bridge it was quite busy most times with lots of different freights ect here we see Class 40 40128 passing through with a parcels train. 27/07/1976. I saw 15 different Class 40,s that day.
