- Groucho Marx
(Googling Groucho Marx quotes is a great way to start the morning. My day is looking better already.)

This cute little burrowing owl was sitting on his haunches playing with a stick that looked to me for all the world like a cigar.... so.... you know me... I couldn't resist a little touch of PS... hoping to bring a little smile to my Flickr friends' faces!! :D I really wanted to reference that famous quote from Groucho Marx, but thought it might not make it through the censors... then I also thought about the White Owl Cigar brand...

Groucho Marx Art Car - Incognito Mobile
Kathleen wrote: It is a representation of the floating head of Groucho Marx - The car's name is Incognito Mobile (NOT Mr. Potatohead!). My name is Kathleen (Bandit) I am the owner, seamstress and $$$$$$$$ (lots of $'s) person for Incognito Mobile. Incognito was built by a team of others too: Ericka (Sharpie). Trevor (Spankie Pie) (who were the primary master welders). Others involved: Tye (Uncle) , Sherri (Ivy), Arlon (light man extrodinaire), TJ, Kimberly (Harmony) and Lucy (Diamond).

"A man in my position (horizontal at the moment) is likely to hear strange stories about himself. For example, it was rumored a few years ago that I made a pig of myself drinking champagne out of Sophia Loren's slipper. I am willing to concede that I tried to drink the blubby stuff out of her slipper but she wouldn't take the damn shoe of her foot. So, while she wasn't looking, I drank it out of her handbag and nearly choked to death when I accidentally swallowed her lipstick along with the wine."

Our Daily Challenge - "Larger than life"
My sweet little neighbors dropped in on us yesterday lookin' like this. They were all laughter and giggles. Our serious Hannah didnt know what to make of them. And yes...those noses are larger than life! lol

Old Halloween picture of me as Bart Simpson, Nick as a Groucho Marx Gandy Dancer and Robby as a GT Gandy Dancer.
Her first movie 'The Outlaw' (1943) with Jack Buetel certainly caught the attention of male audiences. 'Young Widow' (1946) with Louis Hayward left no doubt as to her acting abilities.
Billing her with Bob Hope in 'The Paleface' (1948) as Calamity Jane was genius. 'His Kind of Woman' (1951) with Robert Mitchum followed by 'Double Dynamite' (1951) with Groucho Marx and Frank Sinatra. Back with Bob Hope in 'Son of Palefacohnne' (1952), 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' (1953) teamed her with Marilyn Monroe. 'Gentlemen Marry Brunettes' (1955) with Jeanne Crain. 'The Fuzzy Pink Nightgown' (1957), 'Johnny Reno' (1966), 'Waco' (1966),'The Born Losers' (1967), 'Darker Than Amber' (1970) was her last movie.
She passed away on February 28th 2011 aged 89.

after the great Al Hirschfeld, "The Line King"
Al Hirschfeld was born in St. Louis on the first day of summer, 1903. When he was eleven years old, an art teacher informed his mother, “There is nothing more we can teach him in St. Louis.” The family moved forthwith to New York. Soon he was enrolled at the Art Student's League. Hirschfeld has never had to convince anyone that he's a genius; it has always been apparent.
By the ripe old age of 17, while his contemporaries were learning how to sharpen pencils, Hirschfeld became an art director at Selznick Pictures. He held the position for about four years and then in 1924 he moved to Paris to work, lead the Bohemian life, and grow a beard. This he retained—the beard, not the flat—for the next 80 years, presumably because you never know when your oil burner will go on the fritz.
It's interesting, I think, that although Hirschfeld was initially attracted to sculpture and painting, this gave way to his passion for pure line. “Sculpture,” he once said, “is a drawing you trip over in the dark.”

August 27, 1955. Groucho Marx (and the Secret Word duck) of NBC's "You Bet Your Life." I have no idea exactly how the damage to the cover occurred.

If you ever get a change to see this guy he's great. Today was the second time I've seen him and everyone in the audience loved him.
