This is my lovely pale green Amethyst Prasiolite necklace that I've had for many years. It's not large, perhaps about 20mm long, and set in a plain and simple design. What I have always liked about it, is the fact of the stone not being enclosed in at the back, allowing the light and reflections of whatever colour of clothing I'm wearing to shine through.
These dainty earrings are full of color with a mix of briolettes in different shades: green amethyst, pink topaz, pink amethyst, lemon topaz, citrine and blue topaz. These pretty earrings hang from a 14K gold filled ear wire.
I fought a loosing battle from start with these earrings, I just didn't know it. They proved to be sooo headstrong.
And when I finally caved in and let them guide me, I finished them in no time. A bit wonky on the curls... but hey, I'm not going to argue with them any more.
Funny business this designing jewellery.

Made for the same customer who also purchased the gold/rutile quartz key. This one has an exotic flair to it.
Actually this is a very pale "green" amethyst...

'Light Through A Spiral Cut II' On Black
Please View On Black
And/Or View On White
I made this this weekend while set up at Portland Saturday Market. Lots of egyptian spiral links, with a stunning prasiolite (green amethyst) rectangle-ish drop in the center. Finished with a rollo chain, and clasped by a handmade S clasp.
If I could have finished this at market, I probably would have sold it 20 times over, lol. A fellow vendor has fallen in love with it and will probably take it home next weekend. :-)
Green amethyst and moonstone wire wrapped in silver. Playing with the "abstract" theme again.

Most green amethyst crystals will have been a purple colour at some point in their lifetime. This is due to green amethysts occurring from a heat transfer. Most natural green amethysts were a purple amethyst, which were then heated by either volcanic activity or the natural heating of the earth’s core. It is possible to create manmade green coloured amethysts by heat treatment. It is important that you keep these gemstones away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight as this can easily affect the colour of the stones.
The green amethyst quartz meaning is in some ways similar to that of the purple amethyst, although the properties of the two stones are quite different. A green amethyst contains the majority of the healing benefits of a purple amethyst plus some additional traits. Both green and purple amethysts will help to guard the owner against drunkenness and assist overcoming addictive personality disorders. Both coloured gemstones are also great guarders against negativity in life. This negativity can come from oneself or from other surrounding negative energies.
The green amethyst crystals, in particular, are known to open the crown chakra and the third eye chakra. By linking your heart to these chakras, you can increase your sense of love and empathy towards other people. Green amethysts increase your sense of compassion and self love. They can also help with challenging relationships by bringing a sense of calm to those involved.
Green amethysts are very spiritual stones, which help bridge the gap between the physical and the spiritual world. These stones encourage the wearer to become more in tune with nature and to look inwards for self-discovery.
These earrings are made for The Wire Artisan Teams monthly challenge (www.thewireartisansguild.blogspot.com). And the theme of the month is Tasty.
I just love ice cream - it´s one of my addictions. And an ice cream sold in Sweden is called Crema di Mascarpone. It´s nothing like the Italian original I suspect - but I love the taste. It´s ice cream with mascarpone cheese, raspberry and pistagio nuts. SO TASTY!
I covered these earrings in the colours of Crema di Mascarpone.

Blue/Green Tourmaline and Prasiolite Seahorse
18 December, 2010
A special holiday gift for my sister and her daughter. My sister is dying from an inoperable brain tumor. I wanted to make something special for her and her daughter. My love of seahorses started as a child, when my sister bought some through the mail. They all died, but I was struck by their delicate beauty, and dreamed of seahorse jewelry, so I thought she should have one of my jeweled ones before she goes, and her daughter can have it after to remember her by.
A piece sold at the Desire Jewellery and Silversmithing Show (one of my favourites...it will be missed )
This elegant necklace was inspired by the beauty and color of Spring green leaves in a wooded sunny glade. A breathtaking AAA grade Green Ameythst faceted briolette is accented by two sterling silver leaves and set on a simple sterling silver cable chain.

Left necklace/ centre piece : Agate, fresh water pearl and Czech crystal glass stone.
Right necklace/ centre piece: Vintage Swarovski crystal stone.
Gorgeous smooth nugget beads of delicate green prasiolite (aka green amethyst) form links between handformed spirals of sterling silver wire which I have gently hammered and then sanded and polished to a silky shine. The bracelet fastens with a sterling silver bolt ring.
The gemstone circles collection has grown a little, with two new additions, a Rhodolite Garnet necklace, with a clustered trio of marquise shaped briolettes, that resemble flower buds
The other new piece is an African Amethyst necklace, with two beautiful purple gemstones nestled amongst tendrils of sterling silver
I have actually made 8 new necklaces as well as these, and am adding bracelets to my stash too. I'm making a start on earrings as well.I'll just have to decide which pieces will live in the Etsy shop and which will come with me to sell offline . Decisions, Decisions!!
Enjoy the pictures...
With shapes and colours of the ocean, here is my latest 'spiral loop frame' pendant. This Sea Maiden pendant glitters and sparkles with a prasiolite pan cut briolette and moss aquamarine rondelles.
(This pendant has been made following my SPIRAL LOOP FRAMES tutorial)

My first ever prong ring with a sparkling prasiolite in a basket setting. Challenging but definitely enjoyable!
