Kira was 50 yards away when she saw me waving a bag that she knew was full of treats. I didn't even have to call her......

This huge wave engulfed the pier, cascading
the sea water down in multiple layers so fast
Zooming in close gave the feeling of being under this enormous wall of water
Not the greatest weather to start off another month of photography this weekend. I used what little good weather we had to explore some new places which I hope will provide some new opportunities and I also visited Summer Leys (where else!). The weather was verging on abysmal so it was definitely a day for sitting in a hide and thankfully this little egret was very obliging, fishing right in front of the hide.
37501 TEESIDE STEELMASTER is seen during a private photoshoot at The Greatest Gathering, Derby Litchurch Lane 02/08/25.
By August 1998, Union Pacific had been in charge of Southern Pacific's Shasta Route for almost two years. Aside from the UP C40-8 bracketed by the two SP SD70Ms, this photo on the Dry Canyon viaduct near Hotlum, California could have been taken pre-merger. For a few years after UP's acquisition, most of the manifest traffic on the I-5 corridor was handled by ex-SP power. The UP GE is an interesting sight - a decade earlier it was the latest and greatest power, while today it's just another six-axle motor.
The excess height boxcars, used for paper loading, strongly suggest that most of this train will be turned over to Willamette & Pacific at Eugene, Oregon. In 1998, WPRR had major paper facilities online at Newberg and Toledo. The mill at Newberg was closed in 2016. Although the Toledo plant is still active, traffic today for Portland & Western is less than it was when this Kodachrome was exposed.
Wynwood Walls final 5/5 - urban graffiti art Miami Fla. USA -
pic uploaded for Wall groups.
The Wynwood Walls was conceived by the renowned community revitalizer and placemaker, the late Tony Goldman in 2009. He was looking for something big to transform the warehouse district of Wynwood, and he arrived at a simple idea: “Wynwood’s large stock of warehouse buildings, all with no windows, would be my giant canvases to bring to them the greatest street art ever seen in one place.” Starting with the 25th–26th Street complex of six separate buildings, his goal was to create a center where people could gravitate to and explore, and to develop the area’s pedestrian potential.

I am feeling like being lazy but my inner voice is telling me to get up, get out, and get those things done. I will listen to that voice but, first, I will have one more cup of coffee to get me on my way.
odc - a special place, the kitchen in my home is the place where some of my best memories are located.
This is my niece who is known as Lulu. She is adorable and a very good girl. I love her a lot :) I love how Jesus said in this verse that to be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven, a person must be servant of all here on earth. I also love the fact that Jesus knew what the disciples were talking about among themselves, even though they didn't tell Him.

I was pleased to catch 37601 aka 37501 in her new livery today. Also in tow 37608 and a real bonus in tow 93002 and 93001 in the consist of 0Q57 11:00 Worksop Down Yard to Derby RTC. It's a long way to go before the Greatest Gathering.
Not the greatest photo of all time, but I’ve had this little project sat on my desk collecting dusk for a few weeks now, and it’s about time I posted it. Near where I study, there are quite a few Tudor-style houses, and having spent a lot of time in the area, I finally decided it would be a nice idea to pay homage to my local area. Let me know what you think in the comments!

in Bregenz am Bodensee (Austria) gesehen.
seen in Bregenz at lake constance (Austria).
Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) is a lake on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps, and consists of three bodies of water: the Obersee ("upper lake"), the Untersee ("lower lake"), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Seerhein.
The lake is situated in Germany, Switzerland and Austria near the Alps. Specifically, its shorelines lie in the German federal states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg, and the Swiss cantons of Thurgau and St. Gallen. The Rhine flows into it from the south following the Austro-Swiss frontier.
Lake Constance was first mentioned by the Roman geographer Pomponius Mela about 43 AD. He noted that the Rhine flows through two lakes, and gave them the Latin names Lacus Venetus (Obersee) and Lacus Acronius (Untersee). Pliny the Elder used the name Lacus Brigantinus, after the Roman city of Brigantium (today Bregenz). The lake is also colloquially known as the Swabian Sea (das schwäbische Meer).
The freshwater lake sits at 395 m (1,296 ft) above sea level and is Central Europe's third largest, after Lake Balaton and Lake Geneva. It is 63 km (39 mi) long, and at its widest point, nearly 14 km (8.7 mi). It covers approximately 571 km2 (220 sq mi) of total area. The greatest depth is 252 metres (827 ft) in the middle of the eastern part. Its volume is approximately 1e10 m3 (1.3×1010 cu yd). Lake Constance provides fresh water to many cities in south Germany.

My friend lisa has the greatest collection of exotic orchids. Recently when we went to their house for dinner I saw this beautiful lady slipper orchid blooming in her kitchen. I told her I just had to take a photo of it. Well, all I had on me was a can of mints...
sorry about the scan lines. Just too tired to re-scan. I kinda like the light leak with the color of the orchid though.
Pinhole made with an Altoids Tin

Not the greatest, but when heritage comes the wrong way at the wrong time of day for sunlight, what can you do. The Conrail heritage unit leads NS 26X through CP PACK at Torrance, PA.
This is for all of my wonderful friends on Flickr. Many of you already have a special place in my heart, even though we have not met face to face. I hope to meet many of you one day in person. I thank you for your unconditional friendship and for allowing me to be myself. That unconditional friendship is one of the greatest gifts we can give to one another. I appreciate you so much! ♥
I think this is one of my favorite shots from the Norway trip back in January. I think what makes it special for me is that it is not just a random aurora shot but a decently composed. On our first night of aurora display, I was continuously taking random pictures of the aurora without paying any attention to the foreground. But on our second display, I tried to pay a bit more attention to the foreground. There wasn't anything interesting in the foreground, but the mountains in the distance made a nice subject. It took a bit of an effort to stitch together and process but I am quiet pleased with the results.
The long exposure made the aurora bit of a green blurb but it was necessary to get decent exposure on the mountains in the absence of the moon. On the other hand, the long exposure made it a bit easier to stitch together the image.
I am off to Iceland for 4 days tomorrow night, hoping to catch some more of this amazing show with a slight different scenery.
a before and after.
hey guys,
actually i wanted to show you this earlier, but how to put something in words that absolutely surpasses everything you´ve ever experienced?
Francesco Guardi's 'St Mark's Basin and the Islands of Dan Giorgio and Giudecca' , 1774. Canaletto may be more famous, but many consider Guardi the greater, if not greatest ever, painter of Venetian cityscapes. Profound thanks to the management and staff of the Accademia Gallery in Venice for granting me the freedom to photograph their entire collection. Museum photography is an especially exacting task. I have more to post, both of Guardi and other painters. See the excellent Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francesco_Guardi
So you came back after a long four years
Your college boyfriend didn't work out
So we went out for a couple of drinks
To find out who we are now
Sure we changed but way deep down
You had the same old feelings for me
So I went to the store and I bought you a ring
and I got down on one knee
Got down on one knee
And I said
I am gonna be your forever
So baby will you be my wife
Now that we know a little better
We could have a real nice life
Cause I'm what you wanted and your what I need
So let's meet in between
We are gonna be the greatest love story
This town has ever seen
We are gonna be the greatest love story
This world has ever seen
So baby say yes to me

“Frost is the greatest artist in our clime - He paints in nature and describes in rime”
- Thomas Hood
This photo was taken last Sunday morning in Madison, Wisconsin. The type of frost shown here is called, rime. Riming occurs very quickly when heavily saturated air is comes into contact with a frozen surface (in this case, a branch) that is often wet from condensation.
