My daughter and son-in-law were so kind as to let us use their awesome house and huge backyard to shoot these photos. The compass is their new patio and the lines in the center are actually true to the compass directions (I checked, because I wondered!). Their guy wasn't just a "patio guy" or concrete contractor, apparently he's also an artist and it shows in his work.
These photos are from what we lovingly called "The Crone Goddesses".
Each person (who are not professional models, but three of the four are on cast at Bristol. The fourth was a shop owner at Bristol) chose their respective goddess and created a persona to go with their attributes.
The Braunston "Goddess"
The enigmatic "goddess"
A sculpted stone stands in the churchyard, at the west end of the church, close to the tower. Known as the Braunston "Goddess", it was found in about 1920 when the church doorstep needed to be replaced. When the slab was lifted the carving was revealed on the underside.
There has been considerable speculation as to its age and meaning, and its original position as part of the church building, or whether it may even predate the church.
It is clearly not a gargoyle as it has no drainage channel.
It may have had an apotropaic purpose. It has facial and stylistic similarities with some Irish Sheela na Gigs, but it has no genitalia.[citation needed]
Deep in the heart of the dark oven an under proofed body took on some size and a certain shape before it gained a rich burnished colour and a new moist baked texture.
From the left elbow raised high and arched above her head down across to the right poised hip her body holds the keys of sustenance and of abundance for in her countenance is the beauty of all existence.
The baker and the bread are made of her and in the crafting in the bakery the production there is making more of her. She is that which we are made of and we are only ever making more of her in all of our creations.
I am a fan of making heavy loaves in symbolic shapes that feed me for a week, or more with wholesome sustenance and with inspirational ponderance that I gladly cannot ignore.
The structure of this loaf features circular joined arms around a spherical head that symbolises the encompassing of eternity and the focusing of infinity. The lower half that could be hips is also somewhat cephalopodic to invoke a marriage of earth and water between the goddesses of the lands and seas. If you should look upon these images and think of Belas Knap, the beautiful summit mound and the view within and without, or any of the figures of the Cotswold Severn Cairns then I am happy to say that I was thinking of them as I sculpted my Cherry Bread Goddess.

LAKSHMI - Hindu Goddess of Wealth, Fortune and Prosperity
Designed and folded by me from a single uncut square sheet of tracing paper
Paper size : 75cm x 75cm
Model size : 17cm x 13cm
64x64 Grids Boxpleated
The Owl on the shoulder represents Alakshmi - as with wealth also comes troubles/misfortune. Various tales depict Alakshmi-Laxmi as sisters, some say the Owl represents wisdom and the ability to see beyond the darkness of ignorance.
Lakshmi holds lotus flower in each hand, while giving blessings with the other two, standing atop a lotus.
The design is similar to my Saraswati model. I had the most fun folding the Owl!
Hope you all like it :)

I was thinking of mundane and magick - mud gray and bronze - all in one moment. Then skooshed (I swear, that's a word) my own Goddess stamp right in the middle of it.
June 28, 2017 - "Known as "Shennv Xi" in Chinese, Goddess Stream flows from the southern bank of the Yangtze opposite Goddess Peak. Passengers board a smaller craft for a ride of about 15 kms. each way, to view the beauty of its narrow gorges. They will enjoy local folk songs and dances along the way. Once just a brook, the Three Gorges Dam raised the water level to 70-100 meters in depth, depending on the season. Surrounded by beautiful peaks, many protected species live here, including monkeys, mountain goats, deer and boar, as well as varieties of Chinese medicinal herbs. The area is also famous for its tea, named "Longevity Tea" or "Mountain Tea". Previous text from Victoria Cruises website.
