Aden Country Park is located in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
A new addition to Aden Country Park currently being created is a special dedicated memorial garden aimed at providing a tranquil place where families who have experienced the death of a baby, can remember their infant in peaceful surroundings.
The Fraserburgh and Peterhead SANDS (Still Birth and Neo-Natal Death Society) group have fundraised and received kind donations to enable the group to build the memorial garden in Aden.
The SANDS garden is situated near to the main car park and will complement the existing Sensory and Carers’ gardens.
The garden will feature flowers and shrubs, seating and will have as its centrepiece a memorial stone sculpted into SANDS symbol – a teardrop with child.
Aden is also the venue in the middle of June each year for a balloon release organised by the Fraserburgh and Peterhead SANDS group where families gather to remember their loved one and release a balloon in their memory.
The park has a caravan area with camping, a small shop, a small cafe near the agricultural museum, a play area, a nature garden and a barbecue area. Aden Park can be accessed from Mintlaw by Station Road or Nether Aden Road.
It is home to the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, forest walks and a ruined country house. Every year it hosts a pipe band contest which attracts bag pipe bands from around Scotland.
The Aberdeenshire Farming Museum comprises two main features. The early 19th century semi-circular Home Farm steading features interpretations of 20th century Aden Estate through costumed guides, and the "Weel Vrocht Grun" (well worked ground) contains displays about regional farming history and innovations in agriculture over the last two centuries.
The Hareshowe Working Farm was moved to Aden Country Park in the early 1990s. The farmhouse has been restored to a 1950s appearance and guided tours provide demonstrations of cooking and farm activities.
Ruined house
The country mansion house belonging to the Russell family is said to have been beautiful before it was ruined. During World War II it was used as an army barracks and it is said that the inside decoration was damaged and had lost its lustre once the army were finished with it.
After the war the owners moved away from Scotland and left the house to ruin. At the time a tax had to be paid on any building with a roof, so the roof was removed so they didn't have to pay the tax on a house they didn't live in. The house is made of grey granite.
This memorial is located in Bucksburn Aberdeen a short drive from my home, I visited it after a fellow photographer posted some information on Facebook reference it’s history etc , I captured numerous photos and a few videos of it on a overcast autumn Saturday afternoon 3/11/2018.
Bucksburn
Inscription reads - “To the glory of God and in remembrance of the men of Newhills parish who paid the supreme sacrifice in the Great War 1914 – 1919 and 1939 – 1945. Their memory hallowed in the land they loved”
This memorial is constructed of granite and consists of a tapered triangular pillar resting on a circular stepped base. Rising from the pillar is an octagonal shaft surmounted by a lion and shield.
The panels below the shaft are inscribed with the names of the fallen of both World Wars. The Memorial garden was created by the Beacon Gardening Club with the help of various sponsors and children from local schools with a wrought ironwork banner, a cross and plaque from the local schools.
I visited Springbank Cemetery on the 14th September 2018 ,a CWG cemetery that takes a good few hours to walk around.
Description
Opened in 1884, Springbank is still in use.
There are 94 Commonwealth graves within the cemetery.
A working cemetery, lair plans are available at the Lodge by the entrance on Countesswells Road.
Lair records containing records of burial and ownership for the burial plots available from Bereavement Services Aberdeen City Council at Marischal College, Aberdeen. There is a second entrance on Springfield Road.

Chocolate topped Mango Crepe, My dessert from last night's dinner with my family. I love mango crepes ")
Belhelvie churchyard is located approximately 8 miles to the north of Aberdeen. The church served the parish of the same name. Sometimes known as Pettens Kirk and built east-west little remains now but the west gable containing the belfry, sadly devoid of its bell which went missing in the 1960's.
The graveyard itself contains about 350 gravestones, mostly dating from the 19th and 20th centuries. Also of note are two vaults, the smaller of which is partially underground. The exact purpose of this vault is unclear but is likely to have its origins from the time of the Resurrectionists - or body snatchers!
The church was built from roughly-coursed granite rubble, with slightly better quality granite blocks in the surviving south section of south wall. The west gable, which is complete, has a rectangular door at ground level with a rectangular window above at gallery level. There is a blocked rectangular window to the south of the door. On the apex of the gable is a tall, rectangular bellcote with ashlar masonry (so-called 'birdcage' type). It is dated 1762. Only a fragment of a stone finial survives.
The 1633 bell was stolen in 1966. Only a very small section of the north and south walls survive at the west end, as well as a fragment of the south aisle (which formed the T-plan).
In the graveyard are, unusually, two morthouses. One is a small turf-covered and vaulted structure, set mostly below ground. The other is a larger, later building in the corner of the graveyard. It is rectangular and has a wooden door. It would appear to be in use as a store today.
Fact that the Statistical Account of 1845 reported that the then late minister, the Rev A Forsyth, was the inventor of the percussion cap, which superseded the flint lock!
This is a ruin of a very old church of the parish of Belhelvie which stands on the site of an earlier pagan centre of worship. Sometimes known as Pettens Kirk. There are a number of notable residents buried in the churchyard which include the Rev. Alexander John Forsyth (1769-1843) who invented and developed the Percussion Lock for firearms between 1805 to 1807.
Church of Belhelvie was dedicated to St Neachtan, but at a later date St Columba was made the patron. The church was confirmed to the Bishop of Aberdeen in 1157, along with authority to erect his chapter. By 1256 the church had been erected into a prebend of the cathedral of Aberdeen, with the parochial duties being discharged by a vicar pensioner.
The church is now ruined but was a T-plan church, represented by high W gable with bellcote (dated 1762) and part of S aisle (containing fine but weathered monument to Innes of Blairton). The east wall of the church is probably part of the wall of a Roman Catholic Church. The cemetery is unusual in having two morthouses, one dated 1835. The other, possibly converted from an old aisle, is of uncertain date,.
It comprises a vaulted chamber 2.5m by c.2m, turfed, with an arched and chamfered approached by 5 steps. The water stoup from the medieval church was in the garden of Belhelvie Manse but there is now no trace of it. The bell which was in the bellcote was inscribed 'Henrick-ter-Horst-Me-Fecit-Daventriae-1633' and was stolen in 1966. There is a tombstone of 1722 in the angle of the masonry fragment of the what may have been the S transept, and also a heraldic tomb on the other side of the wall. The churchyard is a rubble-walled enclosure.

People often say, “Storms gather without warning and misfortune befalls men overnight.” Today when the science and technology, transportation, and material life develop fast, people find that the disasters around seem to increase with each passing day. When we read the newspaper or watch TV, what leaps to our eyes mostly are serious or extremely serious natural or man-made disasters, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, social unrests, civil riots, and so on. These disasters happen frequently and their grades also continuously increase. What is left to the places attacked by the disasters is nothing but pain, blood, injury, and death. ...

Last night I was one of the official photographer for our church gathering. It was my first time to be official anything.. haha.. :)
It was a bit challenging because of the low lighting in the auditoriun, (Flash is not allowed) I was using ISO 1600-2000 but still getting 1/30-1/40 shutters @ 2.8
Anyway, it was a fun event. There will be another event later which I will be part of the team again.. yay!! :))
Cheers guys!! Godbless!!

Heard That Loved Me
Aline
From the beginning when you dreamed of
From the moment I raised my eyes
Since that day when I was alone
That's when his eyes met in my.
He knew he loved me, I understood
He knew he was looking over me
How long I waited, and then arrived.
He knew he loved me, I understood
I could not resist, and with a kiss and love
I gave you my heart, I fell in love
And when I was away
I realized that your love and your love
They were for me as a whisper,
I heard your voice in my silence
Calling me every day more for you.
He knew he loved me, I understood
He knew he was looking for more, more from me
How long I waited, and then arrived.
He knew he loved, understood
I could not resist, and with a kiss and love
I gave you my heart, I fell in love.
He knew he loved, understood
He knew he was looking for more, much more from me
How long I waited, and then arrived.
He knew he loved, understood
I could not resist, and with a kiss and love
I gave you my heart, I fell in love.
I fell in love!
I'm here!

Soube Que Me Amava
Aline Barros
Te entreguei meu coração, me apaixonei
E quando longe eu estava
Percebi que o teu carinho e o teu amor
Eram pra mim como um sussurro,
Ouvi tua voz no meu silêncio
Me chamando cada dia mais pra ti.
Soube que me amava, entendi
Soube que buscava mais, mais de mim
Que muito tempo me esperou, e então cheguei.
Soube que amava, entendi
Eu já não podia resistir, e com um beijo e com amor
Te entreguei meu coração, me apaixonei.
Soube que amava, entendi
Soube que buscava muito mais, muito mais de mim
Que muito tempo me esperou, e então cheguei.
Soube que amava, entendi
Eu já não podia resistir, e com um beijo e com amor
Te entreguei meu coração, me apaixonei.
Me apaixonei!
Estou aqui!
